Took off the Grip Puppies and discovered this gap between the base of the Throttlemeister and the end of the throttle. The Grip Puppy was covering this gap. I don't remember this gap when installing the Grip Puppy. Do I have the wrong size Throttlemeister? Is this the heavy one I've seen described? I thought I purchased and installed it but can't find any receipts or records of it. I want to remove and sell the Throttlemeister but can't find the stock bar ends.

If you plan to keep the Throttlemeister, I would turn it to it's release point and tap with a rubber mallet on the end "gently" to shorten the travel distance? I did that with mine and they worked well afterwards. If you bought and installed those Throttlemeisters, it came with a removal tool in order to remove the inserts required to use the original bar ends! I don't know where you put them either?

Thats a little more gap then I see on the install of my TM.....

Yes that is the Heavy Weight model.

It looks to me like the plastic slide that goes in between the TM and the grip is working its way out a bit....
You could easily remove the metal end, tap the plastic friction sleeve part in a bit further, as well as the metal insert a bit further, then reinstall the bar end, make sure you use blue locktite to keep the allen screw from loosening after the procedure.....

If its working and it doesn't bother you, then leave it alone. Clearly there is more to the right side which has the cam, then the left side, which is basically just decoration and doesn't have any moving parts.

I don't use mine much on the Gen 3 with built in cruise, but I like how it makes the bars wider, and I wrest my hands way out there often when I'm long slabbing.

There are plenty of YouTube videos or pics on google showing both large gap and smaller gap, up to you to decide if you want to mess with it.

That TM should have an insert that is adjustible. Take the TM off, pull the plastic cam, and use an allen wrench, maybe a 4 or 4.5, to loosen the insert. Move it in VERY slightly, and put it back together. If I can find my instructions, I'll post them up. Should be pretty easy to fix.

Had the same problem with mine, went to home depot and bought two of their thickest black O rings in the plumbing department. sliped them over into the gap and it fills it nicely, looks great, you may need 2-3. I think you'll be happy.

Cheers

Thanks guys! I made some adjustments based on your recommendations and was able to improve on the gap but now I have a little gap at the other end. Lazy side of me will probably go with Ozzy's O-ring idea unless Hotrodzilla can post up the installation instructions. I tried to find that on TM's website but they look like they are rebuilding their website and very little information is available.

Here are the instructions I received from them a couple of days ago:

I did some work on mine. When I opened it up, there was no spacer in the assembly. I machined and trimmed one on my own. It appears that you are more interested in removing and selling the Throttlemeister than in fixing it so you really want some stock bar ends.

I have kind of a funky gap on mine, but it functions correctly so I don't worry about it.
