Tim and I overnighted in Smithers, too, on our way north. Pleasant little town and the local inns were surprisingly full.

Dave, Diane, Steve, Sacramento Michael and I arrived in Stewart/Hyder this afternoon after a glorious day's ride in the cool, sometimes very cool, sunshine of western British Columbia. The forecast for tomorrow is calling for rain (that's not too bad though, one of the on-line weather sites is predicting snow here on Thursday!).

We will likely be unable to ride up to the glacier due to road and weather conditions. Rather, we will ride out to the Bear Walk late tomorrow morning and hold a brief ceremony there.

This is the time and life that I am living

And I'll face each day with a smile

For the time that I've been given's such a little while

And the things that I must do consist of more than style

There are places that I am going

This is the only thing that I am sure of

And that's all that lives is gonna die

And there'll always be some people here to wonder why

And for every happy hello, there will be good-bye

- Arthur Lee

The ride..... the quote..... the memories. Some heavy stuff there Joseph. A fitting tribute to a friend. I'm sure that there is one finger waving at you right now.

Intentionally deleted. Admins feel free to remove this post (but not the following one). Thanks.

The day dawned gloomy and rainy . . . . . and stayed that way.

Dave, Diane, Steve and I rode the ten miles or so from Stewart, British Columbia past Hyder, Alaska and out to the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site (aka the Bear Walk).

We parked the FJRs and entered through the gate. No other people were there - that was fine with us. Just the river, the trees, the rain and the silence.

It would have been nice if a bear or two had shown up to welcome a friend but they were busy with prior commitments.

We strolled out to the end of the boardwalk.

Nice job Joe, Dave, Diane and Steve. You actually had five riders, didn't you? :)

I appreciate you taking Tim along for the ride to return to the site of his best journey ever.

While the day was gloomy, the sun shone brightly in all of you.

God speed. Ride safely.

Joseph, Dave, Diane and Steve

Thanks for braving the elements to take Two Wheel Nut back to Hyder. Incredibly well done.

Ride safe and enjoy the Twisties!

Love to All, Patti

Don't forget to get Heiderized when you're there. I did it in 1986. Nearly blew the top of my head off!
