I was talking to a fellow FJR rider this morning about the road attacks. He also has some shake while slowing down. We got to talking about different tires, suspension settings, head bearings ect. His thoughts about the shake got me thinking.... His thoughts was on tread design. Most have no grooves in the center to help the tire go strait. Does this make sense. I was thinking of cutting a single groove down the center of the front tire to see if it helps. I have a nice tire groover from my few years of racing 410 winged sprint cars. Tires last about 5 weeks on my FJR and there toast anyway. Anyone have any thought on this??? Smitty

Then again.. the OEM Z6's shook. Two sets of Strada E's since then and the Stradas have no shake.. and I'm pretty sure the tread design is close to identical.

But hey - if you the tires... grab a brewski and get groovin'!

I'd be wantin' something like a truing stand and a micro-adjustable rest for the groovin' iron. Could make it interesting if the groove were off center, or wandered from left to right of center.

Butt, that's just me. Personally, I don't like "ribbed" fronts because of their behavior on grooved or diamond cut pavement, a lot of which is on the Fort Worth/Dallas area
