They were extremely tight fitting! Robin is no small guy and he was damned-near standing on the spoons to get this tire over the rim! So unless you get them put on at a shop be prepared for a fight. But maaaaaaaaan do they feel good!

+1 - a friend installed my rear Storm at his house using a No-Mar and he is a big guy and he was cussing about how stiff the sidewall was on the Storm. I had to help him - no way a little guy like me would have been able to do it by myself.

I got just as much mileage out of my first rear Storm as I did with the Azarros..

I have 12,000 on my front Storm right now. I think it could go another 2K easily. It is wearing evenly, still sticks just fine even wet. The Storm on the rear has 10K on it and is ready to be replaced. I have a set of the Roadsmarts ready to go on. I wouldn't hesitate to use the Storms again. I've been very happy with them. I just like trying new things. FWIW, I think the Azaros (especially rear) last longer than Storms, but I can find them anymore.

I had Metzeler Z6s from the factory, and ran two sets of them. Then I switched to Storms based on the advice of the guy I ride with (FJR also). I wish I had switched sooner. The Storms are great tires. They transition into turns much more smoothly, they stick well and just have a great feel to them. I can't speak for mileage yet as I only have 2,000 miles on them. But I'm guessing I'll get 6-8,000 miles based on how they look now. I've got a 3,500 mile trip coming up in a week, so when I get back I'll have a better feel for the mileage.

I loved the old Azaros. The Storms were good tires for me with the exception of less mileage(8,000 Azaros, 6,000 Storms) and the last set I ran, the front started some kind of wierd cupping on the left side. Yeah, I've heard the crown in the road will cause tires to wear more on that side, but this was the first time that happend with any tires I've run. I like the way Avons handle and turn into curves, but I may try the roadsmarts next time I need a set.
