Happy Thanksgiving to all us Canucks!

This year, complete with the death of my last surviving parent, has brought home just how special the time with family really is (no matter how crazy my teens make me). I've a whole new perspective on being 'thankful' and for how fortunate I am to have my kids and my good friends.

Why I ate too much yams and pie? THAT remains a mystery tho....*groan*

So sorry to hear of the passing Barb.

This is the first year in I don't know how many I've had turkey, scratch that, TURKEY for thanksgiving in ages. Nobody in my family likes it, so it's always ham. Well, I got invited over to my gf's families dinner. OMG. I totally forgot about the near coma inducing affects of the bird. I was all but done by 9pm last night.

Dumb birds, but they always have the last laugh!

I'll echo your sentiments though, enjoy your families while they're still around and give thanks for that.

Amen to that!

My "teens" are now 23 and 26 - both were home this weekend with friends and cousins whose families weren't together for whatever reason. It was great to have a houseful of "kids" again, and I'm thankful they have grown into such great adults.

Thanks Barb! We had our 3rd (!) turkey dinner tonight. Seems all we did this weekend was travel around southern NB eating turkey with family and chosen family. My turn to cook tonight and we were pleased to have a new friend at the table this year - a beautiful and bright university student who is the Student Rep in my UNB Alumni Council group . I echo your sentiments about family and friends

Belated thanks and the same to you!

Unfortunately, my wife has put us on a diet (in preparation for eating our way through Italy in November so, I'm dealing with it :) ). All we had was a Jenny Craig "Turkey Dinner" that was vaguely turkey flavored. :(

We had a great weekend here too. My son and his girlfriend drove up from Vancouver and our honorary grandson flew in from Regina to spend a couple of days. Snuck in a golf game on a beautfiul day Sunday and we all ate way too much rich food!
