Planning my electrification of my '08, and am wondering if anyone's every connected an iPhone to a TomTom Rider 2 to a Starcom with Bluetooth module. The iPhone and TomTom work fine through bluetooth to the cardo scala rider (just got the Rider and tried it out), but what about replacing the scala with the starcom? The diagram below shows what I'm thinking about doing; the iPhone has to have a bluetooth connection for the phone part and cable connection for mp3's (as it won't play music across bluetooth- go figure) and this way I can use the features of the TomTom's phone integration.

Switched power through Bluesea fuse block (would like to use the fuzeblocks.com unit, but they're still out of stock according to their web page) to all bits; connections to starcom from FRS/GMRS radio and iPhone music; iPhone cell via bluetooth to TomTom and from TomTom via bluetooth to starcom.

Thoughts? Ideas?

If you haven't purchased already you could call Jeff at Bikeeffects as I know he uses the bluetooth module with phone&zumo but should be the same setup. If you already purchased, call your retailer or starcom/tecstar.

I probably will, as I haven't bought the Starcom yet. Testing the Rider with the iPhone and Scala, I noticed that if I had headphones in the headphone jack (with the little adapter thingy iPhones need to use regular headphones with no mike), the person I'm talking to on the phone through the Scala can't hear me very well. Without the headphones plugged in, no problems; even at 80 with a noisy modular helmet. I think the iPhone is getting confused and thinking there's a mike plugged into the jack. Next will try getting mp3 audio through the dock connector instead of the headphone jack and see if it does the same thing.

I'm also a little annoyed with the iPhone's refusal to act as a "modem", which means I can't use the Plus features of the TomTom that want to access the internet through the phone (traffic, weather, etc.) Maybe the upcoming iPhone 2 will fix that.
