My 2730 is on order from AutoNav (thanks James for the great price and Rick for the great technical info). I also ordered the m/c mount kit. I'm leaning toward the stem mount setup that GROO has, but is the Garmin mount a locking mount as in someone can't just come along and take the gps off the mount and walk away wth it? What is a good source for the stemmount w/ the 1.5 shaft?

I have a Tourtech with a lock. I saw another one today at a group FJR ride from i believe GadgetDan. It uses spacers with a long bolt into one of the handlebar bolt holes. All metal also with a lock. It was holding a new Garmin 2730. The Tourtech is machined aluminum with rubber gromets on the four mounting points to help with vibration.

Yes, the Garmin motorcycle mount has a lock, and is keyed.
