I keep hearing about SE Ohio, I'm gonna have to spend some time in that area (Wheaties next campout?)...The rest of Ohio though.. <shudder>
I agree with the rest of Ohio...it reminds me too much of Illinois. <shudder>

As far as SE Ohio...check post #6 of this thread...it will give you a hint of some good roads from a good great 330 mile route based out of Caldwell, OH.

I will probably visit this area on my way down or on my way back from EOM this fall.

I thought the BRP speed limits were just a recommendation ;) In the off season you can make double time on the BRP without much trouble.

I've done 11 of the 15, for my FJR I like:

8. California Route 36. (I remember thinking how you need a quiver of motorcycle to ride Rt 36. It have everything from dirt bike conditions to cruiser sections; but mostly sport-tour.)

7. Cherohala Skyway, North Carolina and Tennessee. (like the BRP but better.)

I wasn't allowed to ride the Angeles Crest Highway, California Route 2 because of forest fire damage. :angry2:

However, I agree with an earlier poster there are many better motorcycle roads, mostly in the VA's.

I wonder why the 405 from the Valley to El Toro isn't on there....?
There's nothing better than riding through the 405/10 interchange on the Friday afternoon before a three-day holiday weekend, right? Good times...
Exactly! From Malibu, I always debate how to get home. There is no good way home from there to OC.

I've done most of those, going back in June. That area is truly a blast!! Just watch for washed on mud in the corners if it's been a rainy season.

Keep me in the loop on that one Ray. I don't have any vacation time but I'll be able to get the odd day off here and there. SE Ohio is in striking distance for a 3 day weekend for me.

SE Ohio is always a blast. It's like an all day roller coaster ride...with all the elevation changes. :yahoo:

Just watch out because at the summit of the hill you won't know if it is turning to the left or the right...just expect a turn to happen with very little sight distance because the steep gradient in the vertical curve.

Not too bad, 11 of 15 for me and I'll make it 12 this summer. ;)

Yeah, but have you done SE Ohio? :clapping:

Oh yeah, you have. But you haven't done the SE Ohio roads I'VE done. drc32-0 and tstaff have shown me the secret roads that you haven't ridden yet...maybe someday you'll come back and grab those as well.

Along with the Hooterville 400, etc
One of these days wheatie...time to make another trip east of the Mississippi! And, if you'd ever stay out west long enough, I can show you some secret roads here too... ;) Got the space and the room is waiting... :)

Wheatie thats what your GPS is for.......a quick glance will tell you if you are gonna be going left or right.

 Yeah right! At the speed you ride, Richard, there ain't no way the scale and sampling rate is gonna display that in time. Of course, if you're running the most advanced of the LEO sniffin' radar detectors, THAT might tell you where your next impound is coming from.** :p

** I assume that you're done with riding BC since they initiated that pesky 100 kph over impound penalty on October 1?

gps? what's that?
+1, Gunny! Spoken like a true Man's Man there Mark, I am proud of you!
If I didn't use a GPS or even maps... well, lets just say I'd still be on the road from our trip last Sept and accessing this forum as the first FJR rider in history to have ridden all the way to Hawaii.
Oh Baloney Steve, you were riding with FJRob 1300. You two could have been in Pascagoula, Mississippi and Rob would have smelled poutine and back bacon being prepared in Chelmsford, Ontario; Rob's nose would have led you home, just like a Canuckistani Bloodhound!

Don, Don, Don. :nono:

Were you not with us in Ottawa during the last CFR? Bungie couldn't find north if you gave him a compass.

That's why there's a string tied between Rob's and Bungie's bikes.
