Not sure how many of you have done this, but on Saturday I went to the Total Control riding class by Lee Parks. Lee Parks, Terry & James ran the class, and what a class it was. It bagan at around 8am in Irvine Ca. did not end til 7 pm. The class main emphasis is handling your bike going into the twisties, I want to say it is more for the aggressive rider, and it is, but at the same time it improves your capabilities and confidence at any level of riding. One of the main things I got out of the class is if you want to be a better rider, let the bike do most of the work. These bikes are so well designed that the weakest link is the rider, and with the minimum of effort and a good dose of balance and confidence. We can be leaning into turns touching down the knee with very little drama. If you ever thought about taking this class, you should.

I took the class in Olympia WA back in late July. +1 on the comments above, great class and well worth the $$$. Highly recommended!

Wait a moment! Waiting for my eyes to re-adjust after reading the giant print post.....

Heard those classes are very helpful. I would imagine that it would stop a lot of folks from dropping their ride in slow driveway or parking lot maneuvers.

Soon as I get some crash bars and/or sliders installed, I will be taking one here in H-town.

Most around here, make you use your own bike, which makes perfect sense; The beginners beat the hell out of their bikes enough already.

Curious, In the class you took. Anybody drop their bike to the ground practicing these aggressive techniques?

Sorry for the large type, I am still getting the hang of posting to the board.

Of course it is possible to drop your bike, nobody in our class fell. The experience of riders was from 1.5 years to 31 years, and one of the instructors had ony 3 years, and he is damm good. Terry is an active US Marine, and teaches rider safety to our men and women in the military, and if I remember correctly (this dang some timers really sucks) Lee Parks is taking this class to our military as well. This is a great thing, we were told many of our military coming home and are getting injured and killed on motorcycles. Sorry I degress, but anyone helping our military I feel should get some notice.

I think if you are comfortable on your bike and your basic riding skills are second nature I think you would be ready for this class.

Pools - welcome to the forum!

+1 on the course. I took it in April in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (Cleveland area). I'm not an agressive rider, but that course really helped me be more confident pushing a little harder through the twisties.

Extrememarine (current active-duty Marine) here on the forum took the Marine course with Lee. He spoke very highly of it and that's one of the reasons why I took the course.
