I haven't ridden the bike in several weeks between the San Diego fires and an exhaustive work schedule lateley but something about our loss of Andrew compelled me to ride in this morning and I just wanted to make one point that struck me over the weekend.

This is an excerpt from a post speaking to the danger of Salmon Falls Road:

"sections of the road are very technical and require total focus to navigate at speed."

Although we all know the difference between a road like this and your typical road... and although it is true that intense focus is required on such a road... many of us also know of friends or friends of friends that have been hurt or worse on every kind of road.

So the message is... please everyone focus always.

(and of course, sometimes even that is not enough)

Somedays you feel it, somedays you don't.

Just ask Jeff Ashe, On an EOM ride, I removed myself to the back after starting out on the lead. Head just wasn't there. You just have to know when.

Yep, that's "Applied Wisdom". My personal request is that everyone would "close throttle" about 10% so we can ALL ride tomorrow.
