It is possible that we can have a Track Day during WFO-5, if there is sufficient interest.

There is no place like a Track Day to hone your skills without concern for brain-dead cagers and a cellphone-yapping soccer mom to ruin your day.

Before the WFO-5 Staff go to a lot of effort to research/organize a Track Day, it is prudent to gauge the interest level for this activity among potential WFO-5 attendees.

This would be at the Reno-Fernley Raceway in Fernley, Nevada, located approximately 30 miles east of Reno. And as you can see below, the Reno-Fernley Raceway has a delicious Technical Road Course!

WFO-5 Track Day.... Got Curves? :D

" There are many opportunities for family fun including Paint Ball, a pistol range, picnic grounds, tracks, etc. at the Reno Fernley Raceway. "

Ok who's bringing the Barbie doll ??? :D

I'm in o'benevelent one!!

If its being run by the WFO crew, perhaps we wouldn't have to go through all the "hoops" of a normal track day. If we could remove the panniers, tape the lenses and then....Hmmmm.......

Hey Warchild, maybe we could go one better than a simple track day: Get a group buy/discount on a track school class from Keith Code, Reggie Pridmore, Freddie Spencer, etc. We might be able to get a steep discount depending on the number of people willing to take the class. It might also reduce the carnage which could occur with a bunch of uninhibited FJR pilots careening around the track at one time... :D

+1 for track skool, training sessions, advice from the track/handling experts, etc etc.

I'm no squid, but I know that I don't know as much as I should... And would appreciate the chance to polish my skills under the tutelage of more knowledgable drivers.

What is the ballpark cost for something like this?  Thanks!
Give up the Krispy Kremes for a couple of weeks and you'll be all set for the track fees. ;) :D :haha:

I will certainly attend a track day but the idea of a school is more appealling to me. I have been riding 20 years but have never been on a track. I would also like the tutelage of an instructor (providing 'tutelage' means what I think it does and it ain't got nothing to do with my 'secret places'!!).

Definitely interested but have no track experience. Also a bit worried about binning the bike that far from home, Yes I know I can do that on public roads, probably with the assistance of Mrs Soccer Mum SUV, but can get towing coverage for that. Not for track damage though.

School with Bike Rentals there's a thought, an SV would be sweet.

I had an exchange of e-mails yesterday with Reg Pridmore's CLASS school which runs out of Laguna Seca, to see if they might be offering a 2-up performance riding school around the time of WFO-5. (Laguna is "in the neighbourhood" of Reno if you live in Saskatchewan, Canada)

Sylvia and I met another couple this summer who took a 2-up riding school there a couple of years ago and raved about it. I will post here if anything comes of it, for those of you with passengers who are addicted to performance too!
