Anybody ever do this ride? They say it ends with about 130,000 riders pulling into town. And for the advanced riders they go to OK on monday. Let's get some feedback. Everett

I ran it a couple of times. IMHO, not worth the effort. Crowded, too many bikes with too many posers. People get into trouble (lack of riding experience) This thing winds up in Waterloo AL. Nothing more than a wide spot int the road. There is a campground at Waterloo, but not very nice. (unless they've done some major upgrading in the last couple years.) Other than that, you are gonna ride a couple hours to find a room. The final leg headed into Waterloo is just a 2-lane. Stop-n-go in, worse trying to get out.

There are some vendors that attend, mostly selling t-shirts and black leather. There are some Native-American displays and activities, but limited considering this is the reason for the commemorative ride.

As stated, starts in Chatanooga, runs across nothern AL to the north-western tip. Huntsville is a pain in the ass to get all those bikes through.

It is basically a loud-pipe rally. I doubt I would ever have reason to ride again. Just plain too many bikes and not enough experience. Plus, forget trying to sleep if you camp. (All night long pipe contests)

Just me, but I do not recommend this ride.

edit: I never continued on to OK, so I cannot comment on that leg.

Thanks for the info, you saved me a week of crappy rides. I guess I will go to the keys instead. Everett
