Recently while heading S. on the parkway from Jasper Alberta I discovered I had lost all my medications, blood pressure and some other stuff. About 600+miles from home this will get your attention, especially for us "a little older" folks. Went back to Jasper and found the pharmacy, fortunately I had a 1-800 number for my health care provider and the pharmacist called in with my member number, talked to my pharmacist, and gave me a weeks replacement. Cost was mental concern a bit and lost travel time (about 3-4 hrs.), ended up in Pincher Creek instead of Waterton lakes. Just a heads up for other folks that travel with medications, have a plan.

While on the subject "Traveling Meds" it's also important to have all meds in there original marked subscription bottle/container, not in your daily pill box, when crossing the border into Canada.

I believe that's required by laws even in US, to carry/transport prescription in its original container with the patient name printed.

Great idea, John. At, um, our age, some of us might be hauling a big sack of bottles.

and BTW, and semi-related, also have a pic of your license, registration and proof of insurance on there.

John means photos taped to the outside of his phone.... I conjured up a significant ear infection on a recent trip. Called my doctor, who I'd seen just a week before, to get temp scrip of antibiotics, just two days until I could get home. They said no way, you have to come into the office. Doctor=fired. Hello CVS minute clinic.
