First off let me say that I am sorry to all the riders in the rallies the TriggerT rides. I had to bug him for a couple of years to get him to do one and now see what I created..... :p

Yes I am taking credit for this, but Derek really was the driving force for making Tim so competitive. Just be glad Tim that you didn't follow me as I suck at doing this rally thing....

Seriously, you rode a great rally and deserved to win. Congrats....

Dana

To top things off my wife is already being supportive about the 2013 IBR. Of course that is right now, we'll see how she feels in a year and a half.

Man, I hope it's more often than once in a year and a half!

Holy ****. I ate dinner in the presence of greatness, not knowing that the Lord of the Yardstick would go on to such achievement. Should have got an autograph. But seriously: Congrats on a job well done. Luck or no, it's still quite an accomplishment.

A supportive spouse means a great deal in general, but especially for the IBR. I am spoiled rotten by mine in this regard. I've met quite a few rally wives over the years with varying degrees of support for the game. I really hope yours continues to be supportive!

Thanks for posting Rick... and yes you are probably stuck with me next year again as you constructed

such a wonderful rally this year. When a rider can pull off a rally without a GPS, you know the RM did

a great job with instructions... Great Job! :clapping:

Another stupid question...

Bonus #60- the rest bonus

I noticed nearly all riders took a min. 2 hour (240 pt) rest.

Rally riding must obviously be more taxing to a riders endurance.

In hindsight: Is it more prudent to rest or continue on bagging pts?

Can a rest time be used for route adjustments....

What are the restrictions?

The numbers listed for the rest bonus are for minutes not points so most riders took the Maximum rest break. In this rally the rest bonus was worth a great deal of points relative to the other bonuses. Some rallies that have rest bonuses a rider might think they can collect more points riding than resting, depends on points available. The only thing you are not allowed to do during a rest bonus is collect other bonuses, route adjustments are OK. Specific restrictions can vary from rally to rally but generally a receipt to start and end from the same town. Some leeway can be given if those two receipts were close together but for some reason were in different towns. Taking a rest bonus is encouraged so the Rally Master is usually flexible with the details.

Big Congrats to Tim & Derek for an awesome rally. Was my first rally (thanks RickC) and now I know what it's like. Kinda blows my mind now knowing what those two did. Was a ton of fun though, but I am afraid I am looking at a huge learning curve here. Looking forward to the next one(s).

I posted up something I shouldn't have. Not a big deal. After the Bite rally in about 10 days I plan on writing up a summary of the 4 rallies I ran in this year. I will try to have some good details there.

Oh, cool, you're doing the BiTE. I would have loved to have been there for the finish but I really can't. I'm on call and it just doesn't work. Good luck!

Yeah, well there is no way in hell I can ride as hard in the BitE as I did in the MN1K. I was wiped out for two days after that ride. This getting old **** SUCKS!!
