I was never into sport bikes. I liked big Cruisers. I put over 75,000 miles on a Honda Valk and then 52,000 on a Triumph Rocket.

I picked up a Suzuki Wee-Strom for a trip through Europe and the Alps and that sort of got me thinking a bit more sporty.

Then I got the urge for a Feejer but I still wasn't ready to part with the Rocket III.

It was sort of amusing to me to hear people describe the FJR as heavy, and not that good in the twisties.

For me, the FJR feels light and handles great.

Well now I've traded my 2300cc Triumph triple for a 675cc Triumph triple.

From well over 800 pounds to under 400pounds....................

I am currently working on the break-in so I can't really push it much yet................

It's like torture not being able to crank up the revs.............

I'm hoping to have 800 miles on by the end of next week.........

then get the first oil change on the way to West Virginny and really put it to the test.

I rode a friend's Daytona 675 a few years back on the Dragon and the Cherahala.

I loved the engine but the ergo's were way too racy for an old fart like me.

I said then, "I wish they would put that powerplant in something with more relaxed ergos"........someone listened.

The ergo's on my new toy (Street Triple R) are very similar to the Feej.

Knees are bent just a wee bit more but upper body is actually a wee bit more upright than the FJR.

This is a picture from Triumph's site........haven't taken any photos yet but this is what it looks like.

Andy's a Triumph junkie. :D

Do you still have the Speedmaster? Oh, and if you take that to EOM, all hope will be lost for me even keeping you in my sights.

I was at the Triumph dealer today, and saw a wicked orange Street Triple.

My oh my. Me likey too.

This one had a slight front fairing on it, otherwise it was pretty naked.

I'm planning on taking the Feej to EOM.

The Speedmaster is Therese's ride.........still have it.

The Wee is my adventure tourer.

The Feej has taken over as my general tourer so I really didn't need the Rocket any longer.

I got almost an even trade for the 675.

Since I'm retired now, we are gonna be doing some extended traveling with the dog along.............

the 675 is small enough to take with on a hitch mounted carrier.

I thought about a sidecar rig or a pet trailer and taking the dog along on a bike trip but just couldn't really get serious about those ideas.

Congrats bud! I figure I've got to work for another 47 years before I can retire. Rebel is a pretty good size dog to be hauling around in a sidecar/trailer so I think your decision to haul the bike instead is a good one. Besides, you get to arrive all refreshed for really good rides at your destinations.
