Can anyone tell me why some truckers purposely purge their air brakes when I pass them (on the bike, of course)?

If you say so... It just seems very coincidental that the same truckers I pass on my work commute nail me when I pass them. <_<Rav.....It is probably the air brake drier that blows off every so often to free the system of moisture. I used to run big snowplows and until they came out with this system our brakes would freeze a lot.
That's a new one. Do you have an effect on street lights? If you say so... That's the way it's been on the trucks I have driven.I don't know of any truck system that has a manual blow switch or button in the cab. Most of them are automatic.
Thanks for all the posts... I'll chalk it up to synchronicity.
HotRodZilla: It doesn't hurt... My question was a matter of curiosity, that's all.
Denver_FJR: Nope, the stoplight thing isn't a factor. Sleep well, my friend.
Dude - you need to start drinking more heavily and relax.Other than a little noise, does it hurt you or cause you some type of harm? Since it doesn't, who cares?
Or a multi-hundred pound road gater come flying off it at balistic speeds.

Agreed! Stay away from us if you can. If you can't, get by us as quickly and as safely as possible. Gators (tire treads), rocks, wood, etc can be thrown without us even knowing about it. Not to mention all the blind spots around most rigs.Or a multi-hundred pound road gater come flying off it at balistic speeds.

Amen to that... Had a couple of 'gators' fly past my head. Last year got a rock thrown at my right knee...took me out for three days. So I guess I've got my answer to the air brake purging...it just does it. Thanks to all for the replies!Agreed! Stay away from us if you can.
