Had to run into work today in Indianapolis - I live about 10 miles north. Temps are around zero so I geared up and blasted in. All I saw was two bars on the temp gauge - Temp issues on this bike?? Not this time of year!!

I 'might' see 3 bars at a stoplight after my 80mph run into work when it's 5 degrees outside but you are right, two bars almost at all times.

I sometimes sit there ata light hoping the fan will kick in and give me some of that built in heat.

I will have to ride to work this week b/c my car is in the shop and it is supposed to be -1 tonight...woo hoo!

WOW! You are a harty dude. Are you using a complete set of heated gear to do that? Or does your work allow you an hour to defrost?

And I thought it was cold this morning it was around 35F to day when I left woodland to head out for breakfast over in Middletown at the Cowpoke Inn

Only two bars here also, they seem to run a cool in the winter wouldn't you say.

Of course here is Woodland, Ca. in the central valley

weekend rider :D

Fixed that statement a little. :cold: I generally take the cage when it drops below freezing to avoid any chance of hitting ice, but even without ice on the road 10 miles in that temperature and I'd need a nap under a heavy warm blanket to recover. In fact I'm working from home today and I'm going to get another cup of hot coffee now... :)

You guys are NUTS. I would ride at 37 but this morning it registered -10 on my car thermometer. I am forced to keep my G35 coupe outside so my bike and my wife car and my friends R6 who is in Iraq now can be nice and warm in the garage. I have a remote start on the G and this morning it would not start by remote that is how cold it was.

:)

I'll ride when it's cold but 0 and (-) temps are not in the cards for me :)

Was wearing a first gear kilomenjaro w/liner and first gear pants - only juice was in the heated grips on the AE (which are great by the way). Wish I had a neck gaiter for the ride down - put one on for the ride back. Found a great pair of head ski gloves at Costco this fall - they are the bomb and where only about $14. No problems using the finger shift. Visor fogging was an issue and had to ride with it cracked. At that temp I got about 30 minutes of ride time while still being comfortable. Can't wait for +32 temps....

No heated gear, just some good layered clothing. Now, when it gets below 5, I will use my Oxford Muffs which make a huge difference. I only have 28 inerstate miles to work and for the most part I am OK, but my fingers will get numb towards the end.

Now, yesterday I rode into work and it was 3 degrees outside....came out to start her up for lunch and the battery had died. The battery was ~2.5 yrs old anyway but now the bike sits in the lot at work while I figure out how to get it home. I wrecked my car last week in the snow and it wont be ready until at least this Friday, so no trailering there. I could replace the battery and ride it home but we are supposed to get ~5 more inches of snow today so for now it looks like it will sit outside for a few days. :(

I walked it down to park it just outtside the security office, in the motorcycle parking area and told them what had happened. Looks like it will finally clear up on Saturday so maybe I can get up there to replace the battery and get her home then.
