TIP: Pack light. Pack for 3 days (most) with items that are multifunctional (don't pack multiple shoes, wear riding boots that you can walk in, etc.). Every 3rd day do laundry and catch up on the off bike stuff you need to do. 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, 3 shirts/socks/undies, tooth brush/paste, dispoable razor (or don't shave), pick a good jacket that doesn't require a rain suit (same with riding pants and boots).
That's it.
If there's push back then maybe she'd be happier following in a car that is designed to hault extras.
