Well, just to pile on here. . . I think it was three years ago, a good-sized bunch of us from around Sacramento rode down to the Streetmasters school down south--probably 8 of us. There was also a HOG bunch from the Bay Area, about the same number. One of the real basic exercises on the pad was to make some figure 8s and similar maneuvers around cones. Easy. No FJR had any problems. I don't think any of the Harleys left all the cones up. They were a decent bunch of guys, despite the matching vests and chaps and Harley-label gear. So we tried to be polite and not snigger and point. We sort of made it, too.

Yeah, all the Harley guys are putzez.

All they do is look at their bike in the garage and shine the chrome.

None of 'em actually rides 'em.

None of 'em actually knows HOW to ride 'em.

Yep.

They're ALL putzez.

ALL of 'em.

Good gawd...

This **** again?

Couple observations on the Harley faithful:

1. I've done a bunch of advanced riding instruction and track days and seen all kinds of bikes there EXCEPT Harleys. BMW's, Gold Wings, FJR's, various standards, some motards, but never a Harley (There was once a guy on a Buell). I can only conclude you get a bag of riding skills along with the purchase of a Harley.

I know a guy who is a former Motor Officer. Of course he rides an Electra Glide Ultra Classic.

In his younger days he completed an Advanced Riders School and a Racing School. I followed him through the mountains once while he was towing a trailer and had his wife as pillion. He was getting all he could out of the Glide and scraping a lot of metal. But its still a Harley. Wonder what he could have done with an FJR?

Screwball
