I like the look of it except for the color. Red would be nice...

Anyway, it looks like the engine heat is all directed right at the rider's legs. Wonder how that will work.

That bike is hot! :dribble: Front-end is just pure evil. With a solid-glossy paint job preferable in black and not the flat gray color shown…it would look so much better from the side view. Can’t wait to see one on the show room and get a test ride (this beast is definitely on my radar). Doesn’t look like there will be integrated bags for it…but Beatle Bags would be a possible cure. Would be so cool if my insurance company would STILL classify this supposedly new (190 hp to crank) ZZR as a “touring bike” LOL! They did for the old one. Great job Kawasaki! Boo Honda for being so dam conservative AGAIN! Now waiting for the curtains to unveil on the Suzuki Busa. :unsure:

 
This Kaw is a nice bike for what it is, but I've never understood why it gets so much attention as a new sport-tourer. It's another interation of the ZX-11 which has been around since what, 1990?

With those cans so high, there isn't room for factory paniers. Have fun trying to get the givis around those...

Another sport bike that isn't a sport bike.

I want one anyway...I just want one of everything.

The Suzuki RF-type "gills" don't look as bad on the red model. I hope this isn't just an exercise in wishful thinking......if it's sporting, say 100+ ft. lbs. and 170+ RWHP and actually becomes available - make mine Red (or Kawi Green).

 
Thanks fer the pics WC, I gotta see it in person though before any judgements on styling and truthfully a ride is in order before said pronouncements but it is nice to see the Busa getting a playmate...maybe an '07 1300 BlackBird is in the wings...get it ? Sorry...I'll go back to my hole now.... <_<

I like it! I wonder if it has the same riding position as the ZX12R? I rode a friends and liked it better than the Busa... Hmmm, Desions,Desions!! :p

Your eagle eyes have it right. A Couple of the Japanese bike magazines say that the ZX will indeed be 1400cc. If they can do it while keeping engine size and weight down it should be total over kill. Now, where are the aftermarket pipes, reworked air box + filter and the hot cams to shore up the performance a bit :bigeyes:

It still pales in comparison to the 2300cc Triumph Rocket III.

The last time a non-Italian bike could include chain-drive and the word "Tour" on the same model was the old SOHC Honda CB-750. The orignal GS-1000 could sorta get away with it if you put on a WindJammer fairing and saddle bags--but only sorta. This puts us back in 1978 and 1979...

I don't even believe that Ducati and Aprillia's "Tour" bikes deserve that sobriquet.

To me, "Tour" in ANY configuration means shaft-drive, at a minimum. Necessary condition. Not a sufficient condition but a necessary one.

Kawa may have the new 'Busa killer. Cool. But it's not a tourer, or sport-tourer.

Horsecock. A couple of Givi bags - which you know will be available - and this thig will tour just fine.

Everyone's definition of touring/sport-touring/supersport-touring/hyper-sportbike is different.... just because it doesn'thave a barn-door windscreen and a mondo-ass sized fairing to hide behind, doesn't mean it can't tour with the best of them. It ain't a rolling sofa by any means; Gold Wings are available for those that have reached that age in their riding lives.

The folks in the Endurance Riding community know better.... last month, over half a dozen V-Stroms ran this 11-day, 11,000 event without any issue.

It all depends on your motivation... if you want ride an ultra-performance machine many thousands of miles over a multi-day touring vacation, all you gotta do is prep it properly, like you would any bike. Automatic oilers make chain-maintenance issue a thing of the past.

Enough with the tour stuff, lookit that intake shot on the cutaway, and the effort to equalize header length. Explains the tank design. A beauty of a motor. This things built to haul ass, fo sho ;) Bet it'll tap 200.

That bike is kick ass in Red........... can't wait to read some reviews.

.... and there's no way that motor won't find it's way into a Connie replacement I'd guess.

Life is good for the GT and ST crowd.
