The hash mark stripes on the 05 could be recreated by any good auto body shop, that looks like just two different sizes of silver stripe.

Nice job on the stripes duff, really sets off the bike.

I would probably screw those up so have to pass on this farkle.

Thanks for all the props on the stripes and the farkling guys! I am mildy anal retentive with a touch of OCD, so I tend to take my time getting things right. And to think I have very little patience...

Anyway, the 08 is looking and running great. I'm just hoping the new windshield shows soon so I can have a little peace and quiet on the long rides. Looks like another week has come to an end and I will need to click the odometer up a bit! :yahoo:

Man, that's a beautiful bike! What kind of GPS is mounted? I like the fact that you don't have some huge antenna. I noticed that some of the Garmins have this big round job mounted. Is that to get the XM with it? Is there a model that will do both GPS and XM where you don't have to mount a big *** antenna? I'm sure this question will generate a lot of "clickys" and "hey buddy, don't you read the rest of the forum" comments, but give a new guy a break. (That's a pre-emptive strike to counter my ignorance.)

And this one goes out to you guys that are picking up all these new bikes. Congrats! I hope to join the club soon. I have my commander in chief's understanding. Now I just have to make the stars and moon allign. We are starting a new business, which is kind of hitting the budget. My day will come and I will be a postin' fool with photos and a huge grin.

The GPS is a Garmin Zumo. Yes, you need the big antenna for XM, but I don't run XM. You could always put the antenna somewhere hidden if you wanted. One thing about farkling is the massive amount of creativity you get to put into it.

Good luck in your new business endevour and the future purchase of an FJR. I totaled my 05 with just over 29K miles on it and never hesitated when I found out it was totaled. Had new one on order in less than a week. It's a good bike... to say the least.

Hay Duff, it was nice to meet you in pismo last weekend.

The bike looks great and I'm glad your are enjoying her.

What kind of windshield did you order? I need to get a bigger shield for my trip to WI this summer.

Cee Bailey's +0 wide and +2 high with flip. It is not here yet, but I'll post up with my feelings on the purchase after I have a chance to try it.

Some of us are more interested in function over form. That being said, there are those who put the XM antenna in their tankbag. I suppose you could mount it under the fairing if you could find a space...maybe in the otherwise barely useable glovebox?

My day will come and I will be a postin' fool with photos and a huge grin.
Oh, pilgrim, we will celebrate with you and share in your joy! We will even try to console you when you say, "Why did I wait so long!" ;)

I placed my antenna under the plastic piece behind the passenger's seat. Works like a champ even when I have my Givi on the rack.

Duff,

Nice ride Bro!! I like the look of that Black!! Just a lot of work to keep um shined. BUT, when they clean.. They O so SWEET!!

I like the stripes too! Just like me own except you didn't do the bags. Check out my bags and farkles below on me signature line.

Ride safe!!

Anyone consider mounting the antennae on top of their helmet? Might be better for reception.

I love the stripes on the blackbike. Very sharp. I have blackcherry, and I am finding it difficult to consider doing anything to her skin... so pretty as is. I would, however like to get a whole new set of plastic and custom paint it. But I have to have my orig color on hand as well. Anyone got a set of 07 skins laying around?
