Thanks to the newly formed Umatilla Lion's Club, I'm organizing another scavenger hunt this year. This time the date is April 24 and the start/finish will be Spillway Park in Umatilla, right below McNary Dam. We'll do basically the same format with a 7-hour ride and places to visit throughout Oregon and Washington. I was thinking of a Spokane, Portland, or even Canada bonus, but you guys might actually try for it.
I tried to post the ride to the forum last month, but my message got bumped because I mentioned an entry fee.

Anyway, tell all your friends and I hope to see you there. I'm bringing new tires this year too.

From another forum I visit....anybody in the PNW that has wondered about this competitive rally thing and doesn't want to go do an 11 day Iron Butt Rally or even a 24 hour event 3 states away.....this is the perfect taste. I rode this last year and had a great time, saw some new roads I had never been on, and tested a few of my rally routing skills. IMO, it's a perfect first try for a newbie. 7 hours and you'll cover about 300 miles.

I'm checking on the start time now, but think it was 8 a.m. last year. I think the entry was like a $30 donation and that's CHEAP when it comest to a rally. Typical outlay for a Utah 1088 is something more like $600 - $700 including hotel room.

And two rookies won the event! A guy on a Ducati Monster with 100 mile range and a guy who wandered by riding a Connie tied with him. Your truly with all his rally skills placed third. ;)

And if there gets to be sufficient interest I'll be looking at having a BBQ at my place the night before for those that might want to make a weekend trip out of this.

That sounds awesome. Wish I could make it.

Interesting, it seems to have very much in common with the LowCal250 ...they even picked the same day of the year.

If this was a different date I would certainly try to make this.

is your helmet buckled in that pic?

I've got an external buckle I use....but it does look a bit loose.
It looked buckled, but it didn't look like it had gone through the OEM loops, that is what had me baffled, I kept trying to figure it out. Should have realized aftermarket buckle. Carry on

I think I wil be there. Got any more details or do you just show up ????

That makes 4!

Just show up! I still haven't formallized the exact hour, but think if you are read to roll by 8...it should be safe.

Registration is all of about two minutes and a very casual affair. I would suggest being fueled up as a 7 hour rally doesn't reward those that have to dally. There's several stations right at MP1 of I-82.

Send me a PM if you want to reserve a couch. I've got two guests so far and a local newbie on an FZ1 coming to the BBQ. It starts at 6 p.m.

BBQ is on for sure for Friday at 6 p.m. PM if thinking about attending....I'm in Pasco about 35 miles from the starting line.

Also, have 3 guests staying.
