I gotta vent...I am kinda irritated...

I just read a thread in the classified section in which a member sold something to another member, where, the buyer with a total of 34 posts, used 3 of them to say:

"I find this website madeningly inefficient."

"does anyone else find this website unresponsive"

"I get cracked by the moderator but they still have not fixed the problem"

and

"God I hate this website"

It didn't cost the seller, nor the buyer a cent to use this free service to find each other, communicate, negotiate, peddle and then purchase goods at a huge discount.

The buyer was offered free assistance from another member who had nothing to gain in helping him, and then was offered help from an admin with his own posting mistake only a short time after it was reported.

I'm trying not to break rule 2 regarding moral philosophy, I almost feel like violating rule 5 because this guy should be attacked about his personality, and am trying not to be who rule 6 is about, as I am not usually easily offended.... but this offended me.

In response... I find this website amazingly efficient and well run, find the members and admins incredibly responsive, see the admins actions as they have related to me so far as incredibly reasonable, and LOVE this website.

Thank you for listening, I feel better now.

BWV,

FWIW, there is a principle that governs every word we speak and every deed we do. Many would argue that it isn't true as they can quote occasional exceptions. However, life has an amazing way of proving them wrong because eventually, no matter how many times you flip that coin, it WILL be extremely close to 50/50 one day. And that principle guarantees justice to all who find themselves in this same boat you describe, sir:

"...for whatsoever a man seweth, that shall he also reap." Gal 6:7

I ALMOST posted a response to the postings you are referring to. Although I understood (Kind of) his frustration, His impatience was clearly at fault.

What are we asking of our admin. ? To broker each classified ad? Kind of silly isn't it? Read the rules of the classified and they state the obvious.

I have purchased 3 items this year from the classified section: A set of side cases, a windscreen and a set of PR2's... all for $190 - Thats TOTAL!

Now I would challenge that member to equal or better those deals on any other site. In addition, I have found ALL transactions that I have made

to be wonderful exchanges with the sellers. Crazy me, I work at the post office, so I hate the shipping process. I try to save the inconvenience for

both parties by picking up the items in person. So far I have had total co-operation from sellers.

3 thumbs up to classified so far this year !!!

And to the party of which we speak this:

Guns N' Roses - Patience (lyrics) - YouTube

Deep breath... relax.

There's goofballs everywhere, some you side with, others you just (have to) ignore. Some peeps here (still) have their panties in a wad about da forum rules. Again, relaxxxx!

Maybe we should not be worried about 'dees-here rules' so much and continue as we have been before?

understand...but after seeing the situation, I decided it wasn't worth my time and brain cells to comment

Not in any order.... I scored what was easily a $160 shield for 75$ shipped...got the right sliders for my bike so it stays pretty if i drop it, have amassed an incredible amount of knowledge and tips in an amazingly short period of time, found out how to make a NEPRT thread with almost no effort at all (a joke.. and sorry guys, I'll try to do better), and made some friends already,

All Just for deciding that I want to be a member of this fine forum, signing up... and searching around a little.. fo' Free

Kool beans, look forward to meeting you as well (a fello NYer) this spring/summer. All the guys (and gals) I have rode with (and met here) are very cool. Sometimes these forums tend to make some of them out as complete a-holes... but then ya meet em, have a beer with em and soon u r buddies ....jus watch out, some here prob would like 2 also become "butt buddies!" -JK (I hope) ;)

The official rules notwithstanding, we have a tradition here called 'dogpile Fridays'.It is best to save your gripe about something out of line being posted for Friday morning at which time you will get a lot more participation and usually some good fun. The miscreant will either have a tantrum and go away or adjust his attitude and join in the fun.

I am on a couple forums where users are not allowed to sell stuff until after 50 posts. I get irritated with the tools that come on here to ONLY sell **** and then leave.

Does that rule ensure 50 meaningful posts? No. Will it slow down some of them sure. Will others just add 50 posts of pure baloney? Sure...

Is there a perfect solution? Prolly not, but someone shoulda jumped his **** and his add been ignored. However, free market and all...

Oh well. Too bad for him he's a *******. Someone's gotta do it.

I firmly believe in Karma...My version is kinda a cross between Earl's version, and the everything that goes around comes around kind...

It helps cope with those people, and it helps me to be a better person... I think...

(I better go help some little old ladies.. I think I might be down a point or two...this F#%$in' snow won't go away...)
