Bill, Ray is dying for that bike.. Got anything that needs a resto? Me thinks Ray is liking Resto vs. 'gotta have the damn thing by tomorrow syndrome...'

What a robust swingarm that thing has! Then again, that design was probably not prone to bursting into flame. Another thing I don't recall noticing before is the unusual attachment/interface between frame and rear shock.
Love seeing these vintage rebuilds and am really looking forward to pics of an original '59 Pan. Are you going to do the work on DC's knee restoration too, Ray?
I offered to do the knee but he was a little concerned about my use of power tools on his body parts.

Actually, Ray would be a great bone doc. Probably better than most out there, with formal education and all. My Pops was the same way. I respect that. Common sense. Logic. Fundamental mechanical conceptual understanding. Yep. That's it.

In the mean time, can you believe how freaking beautiful that bike is?

When possible, I'll try to find pix of my Uncle Dutch riding that bike back in the day. Unfortunately, most all my family pix ended up in a fire or something with the 2nd divorce.

Damn sexy bike. Opposing cylinders, crazy-*** frame and struts, nice looking storage on the rear tail, and obviously a bike that's "been there, done that".

You'll catch some serious babes with that thing, so be careful!

Nice work boys. She's a good looker. I've got a soft spot in my heart for older beemers. Did a running resto on a /5 a few years ago and that cured me of any desire to ride one very far. We are seriously spoiled by the advancements in motorcycle technology over the past 50 years. But they are still fun to look at. ;)

I sense a SS1000 in someone's future.......
Oh crap, you still remember that, Hal?
