A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar ($3500) during a flight. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar. During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for Youtube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded : "Good luck with that one, pal".

So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube. The video has since received nearly 6 million hits. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal".

Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has led to a sharp increase in orders.

Yup, it is nice to since the little guy stick it to the big corporate giant once and awhile. Beware the power of the Internet.

There was an article in Aviation Week & Space Technology about airlines jumping on the social media "fad", and talked about this video and the power that can't be ignored. Interesting.

Tyler, Great post, funny, good music [surprised I haven't heard of this fellow before], & evidently achieved the desired results, ...love to see the individual triumph over the big corporation, at least once in while!! Done in a classy way to boot!

By the way, the new 'do' looks great, short suits you! You can consider that a 'professional' opinion, since I was a cutter for over 10yrs.

I think large corporations are finally realizing the power of the internet. This superbowl and the first time for no ads in 23 years, they're refocusing their ad dollars on the internet. Hmmmmm.

Thanks, Moose! I found a really great gal who really knows how to be a "cutter"... and when I got out of the hospital, I lost a lot of hair so it just seemed easier to cut it to let it all grow out eventually... :)

Love that story. I shall be looking out for this guy again. Hadn't heard of him before but I want to hear more.
Jill, I bought his entire album that "Now" was on and have really been enjoying listening to it... give it a go! :)
