In the Sept. 26 issue of Cycle news, there is a quote from E-Boz about his Super Bike.

" We have a great motorcycle and the simplest of problems is turning the thing into an unridable monster. It's a monster that doesn't want to go around the racetrack. It's such a shame, because we have compromised everything the bike does great, just to address the entry-grip issue that we have. We've gotten away from any kind of decent set up. We've sacrificed everything the bike does good to try to handle the problem that we can't address. We could go back to what we had , but we're too stubborn. Everyone else has stepped it up. We have not. Until we fix the root of the problem, which we are going to, we're not going to be in the race."

Maybe that statement will shake things up a bit at Yamaha...........I hope so...............

I think it's more of a Spies/Mladin problem than a Yamaha problem.

Sorry, not a Boz/Disalvo fan.

Racing for 3rd. IMO.

I believe it's a geometry problem. What has shaken things up at Yamaha are a couple of things, I hope...

a. The new for '09 Superbike rules leave chassis and suspension changes wide open. (read chassis/geometry)

b. Colin wants to come back home and win an AMA SBK title for Yamaha in '09!! :yahoo:

If EBoz and BBoz and little Dsvo can do the development works next year maybe Colin will coach 'em on their entry speeds in '09.

:D

Send Keith McCarty @ Yamaha NA telling him we wanna see it happen!

And Colin would leave MotoGP for what reason? A smaller paycheck and less global exposure? Where'd you read this?

I'm not saying he will, just that it would be Yamaha's best shot at beating Ben or Matt.

No, no... the issue isn't Ben or Matt, it's that factory bike that Suzuki has dialed in so well, no question about it. Spies and Madlin are obviously very good, but it's their factory bike that has dominated. (notice I didn't say the GSX-R bike has dominated.... even well-heeled privateers Like Jorden Suzuki can't get the factory parts Ben and Matt get to enjoy).

You put a rider the caliber of the Boz Bros, Yates, Disalvo, or any other top AMA rider on that same fatory bike with the same tires, etc, etc, things would be considerably different. Obviously, this will never occur, nor should it... this ain't the Boxer Racing series, with everyone on the same bike.

Sidenote: Isn't Spies gone to MotoGP next year, or did I mis-read that....?

Haven’t Yates, Hacking, & Tommy Hayden had a shot on exactly the same equipment in recent years?
