BTW, Hycle and I came home via 24-680-80 and had barbecue @ Kinders in Fairfield.

We were talking about heading home from the ride via 24-680-242-4-Antioch Bridge-160 and stopping in Rio Vista for a snack or dinner, then riding the river road back to Sac. That would be something to do beside riding 100 miles of interstate.

Any comments or suggestions?

Especially since Old Michael and the Rogdebs won't be there....we can do what WE want! Neener-neener-neener!

That's my preferred route from the Bay to Sac.

To make it even more fun you could retrace your steps, back down Wildcat and Bear Creek, right at Alhambra, follow it back to 4, then pick up 160.

Bike is ready to go, just pencil my name in where OM name was and I will be at the Chevron in West Sac. at 0830 :bike: weekend rider

JB - I can't/won't make the decision right now... Krzy8 is down for maintenance, meaning only Wabs, an IttyBittySixFiddy is available for discourse... and I may have familial biz to investigate, the great Wabs CBA ride of 'where did the property go'?

I'll call/PM you JB... Thank You, you are a true bud.. :clapping:

Don

What do you get when you cross an elephant and a rhino?

In any event, I will post the route later today. MM2, shall I post the route that does not take the long way round to get to the wall after we come off Bear Creek? Also, what about after the wall? I like Jerry's idea of riding the same route in reverse back to Hwy 4 rather than going down 680. All roads look different from the other direction.

Happy New Year!

Hans, mein freund, since you are much more intimately aware of those roads I choose to trust your judgment. I rather enjoyed the long way we rode to the wall last Saturday so whatever you plan will work for me.

Great roads Hans......

I will do the second route back towards San Jose area... may add some to it .....

Updated list.

I have until Friday to call in the exact total and they will set up the tables. Looks like 20 should do it for now.

If we have time and want to continue onto some additional great roads, we can continue on this route.
Yeah....I was looking at that on my Mapsource and thought, "Gee, that looks like a good and fun road. Maybe we should plan to come back down here and ride that with JB!"

I think the Sac Valley group ought to discuss that option at breakfast or at The Wall. It'll add another 1 1/2 hours onto our ride and much may be decided once we look at our watches at The Wall (or the vista overlook just past it).

If we are planning to head to Rio Vista or Walnut Creek for our "good-byes" with the Hycles we'll need to consider how much of the river road we want to ride in the semi-dark or possible fog. Plus that might be a better way home for the uberkuls as they can take Hwy 12 or Twin Cities East toward home. There's nothing that has to be decided "right now" and I've programmed the alternate into my GPS (thanks to JB's excellent Google maps).
