Urgent fork info needed

The manual's pretty vague with a few details. The oil level appears to be measured with the damper rod in place but theres no mention of the spring in any of the assembly/disassembly instructions. Is the oil level measured with the spring in or out? Thanks! Oh, I have an '05.

Nothing in place other than the damping rod-the level is set with the tube compressed.
