While I have not been as far as Ocean City, MD (the eastern beginning point), I have altogether traversed darn well most of it. I rode US 50 from KC, MO to Winchester, VA in 2005 (on my 2003 FZ1), and from Sacramento, CA to KC, MO in 2006 (on my 2005 FJR ABS). This road is known as the "Backbone of America." You go through parts of America that are fading quickly into our collective memory hole. The section of US 50 through Nevada and Utah and central CO, is not to be missed. I neglected to mention that US 50 between Morgantown WV and the Virginia border, crossing through Maryland, is a stupendous motorcycle road.
