I'm looking for some Gen II parts, specifically a hand shifter assembly and a complete fuel tank including fuel pump, filler neck plus cap, and the fuel line quick connect. I'm trying to avoid flea-bay.

Where do all the wrecked FJR's go? A while back, one of our members wrecked his AE in Utah. He gave me the phone number of the company his insurance company sent the bike to but it turned out to be some national wholesaler of wrecked bikes. I couldn't buy anything from them and they pointed me to some web site where I had to fill out some generic form with my return e-mail. Turns out to be the same site if you "Google FJR Parts" that also lists just about all other makes and models of motorcycles.

I don't want to get on yet another e-mail list. Are there any sites or companies out there that can be contacted directly for specific parts without broadcasting nationally to a dozen different companies all of my information?

I have 2 black 08/09 tanks (no pump etc). Both are excellent condition (2 miles on one brand new take off and the other has 2022 miles). Pm me if you want a black tank.

Greetings neighbor; did I miss a post somewhere's? Did you have a fall or tip over???

Google Motorcycle Salvage ('Yards' is an optional search word). You will find whatever you want if you are persistent. There are a LOT of salvage yards, many associated with normal motorcycle sales operations. Someplace in this forum I've listed three that I have purchased parts from, if you have problems I will find the salvage yard names.

Be absolutely thorough in getting a description of the condition and completeness of the item. Don't forget even the little things like logo on the gas tank and condition of the connectors. Get info on the warranty/guarantee if any. Absolutely get a contact name so that if anything goes wrong you won't have to play phone tag. Before you send them money, send them an email explicitly detailing what you are supposed to be getting and ask for a confirmation, a legal CYA in the unlikely event that you should need it.

Now, having said all that, the simple parts you are looking for should be a very easy deal. Almost all the salvage yards are trustworthy and your deal should be no problem. Do call more than one and price shop because there is often big price differences.

My caution is based on my experiences with several salvage yards when trying to purchase a FJR engine, apples and oranges to your parts request.
