You guys are funny! and thanks for the kind words!
B&B's are the way to go for romantic getaways! A lot more charming in my opinion - it's like staying in a home away from home, because it is..
I didn't know that there were no motorcycles allowed into Pebble Beach. I bet it would be different if one lived there or worked there (maybe), it would have indeed be a huge disappointment if we were on a motorcycle and were not let in. Although, I do wonder if there are exceptions, but you might have to know someone or have business to be there, something to look into for sure because I would like to get back in there sometime in the future and I might be on my motorcycle.
Hey, at least they let me wear my FJR hat. My car makes almost as much noise as my FJR if not more, which of course is nowhere as loud as a Harley with straight pipes. It never occurred to me why I didn't see a single motorcycle on 17 mile drive, although I did see a fair share of Ferrari's and yes they pretty much drowned out every other noise as they passed through, but to me it was music to the ears!
There is a lot of money in the area, and not just in Pebble Beach and in most cases it is enough money to afford the state going Commiefornia, but let's not get into that. That would be a very long and much frowned upon (here) discussion.
Pterodactyl, how about posting the pictures of that Cessna flying under Bixby Bridge? I bet it made for some fantastic photos, although a stunt like that would probably grant one a one-way trip to Guantanamo these days!
Papa Chuy, haven't you heard? OM and Bokerfork broke up! Old Michael has a new girlfriend now and it's not Bokerfork! (I am going to pay for that comment later...)
John, the B&W in the fog was the best I could do at Lone Cypress, that was before noon when we first passed through there, we returned again late in the afternoon, hoping that the fog had lifted in that area, but on the contrary the fog in the afternoon was so thick it was coating my lens with moisture within seconds. It was weird because a few miles or so up the coast in Pacific Grove there was absolutely no fog at all!
...and I know better than to post pictures of the little lady on the forum. What with Papa Chuy around...
