In an effort to keep the correct amount of air in my tires - I am looking for a valve stem extender so I can better use the typical gas station air pump. Currently it is somewhat difficult to use the standard air pump - having to bust my knuckles up to get a hose to the stem.

Any thoughts?

thanks, Dan

Check this thread. I have these valve stems; it makes checking the pressure worlds easier. I have had trouble with some air chucks/pressure gauges not working with these stems, but maybe thats just me.

Just bought myself a pair.

I can't figuire out how they go on...do you have to deflate the tyre to install them?

It's best to do when you have the tires dismounted while installing some new tires. Whomever you have change the tires should mount them for you with no problem.

Ahhh. many thanks.
Yes, just read the manual....you know what they say, RTFM!

:)
+1 -- Read the manual.

I used the method of putting the grommet in the rim and then installing the stem. Perfect seal... no leaking. Easy to check/inflate tires :yahoo:

A well respected forum member fitted these and they came loose.

He obviously had to remove the tyre to tighten it, he applied some Loctite to the nut, never came loose after that.

Use the blue Loctite (for maintenance items)... not the red. Then you should be able to use them on the next set of tires as well, and so on.

Buy yourself a pair of these and put them on with the next tire change.

I have purchased a pair of these valve extenders which are supposed to fit the FJR, but they don't fit. What am I doing wrong? They don't just screw over the existing valves.

They're not valve extenders. They're right angle valves.

Bet the caps fit though.
