Something new today for me.. a discovery on a platform already well documented and worked on..

If you can't seem to get the brake caliper removed from the disc on the front end.....

...because something is hanging it up..

.............and you try and try, using all the same techniques that have worked previously.. with no success...

............rotate the tire Dumb Ass, the right angle valve stem and cap are interfering with the caliper thus preventing inner movement and allowing removal.

Just saying!

I've printed this and will add it to my garage binder full of tips I've learned on the forum. I'm sure the tip will come in handy one day.

Gawd...And to think I let Carver help me remove and replace my wheels. I guess I'm lucky my bike didn't explode in Nevada somewhere! Lol.

Been there, done that. Probably on the 3rd tire change after I installed the right angle stems. For a couple minutes there I thought there was something wrong with my brake caliper. Duh!

Since we are on the topic what size right angle valve stem is needed (10mm seems to be common) and what is a good source?

I set my stems facing out the right side to make them easier to access when the bike is on the side stand. Never thought about interference with the calipers during wheel removal, but then again I've only done that twice since the stems were installed and I guess I just got lucky. No big deal for me, I'll just watch for that next time.
