How often should valve stems be changed??

I always keep a spare set of the stock vavle stems on hand. Everytime I change a tire I just bend each valve stem about 45 degrees to each side and inspect the base for cracks. If no cracking or deterioration is present they stay. The last set I changed at 3 yrs old although they still weren't cracked yet.How often should valve stems be changed??
No, that's way too often. At every oil change is quite sufficient! With every gas fill!
:clapping: Thanks- this is why I don't ride with a $50. helmet, shorts, tee shirt, and flip flops. So maybe I'll change the VALVE STEMS when I gas up next. :yahoo:I always keep a spare set of the stock vavle stems on hand. I bought my valve 90 degree valve stems from a forum vendor (Bike Effects): linky thingy.I bought other things so I got the 10% discount he lists under the vendor secton so the price was in line with the ebay link Mike posted.
I agree...I was too stretched for time (ie lazy) to find the preferred vendor who sold these and I do wholeheartedly endorce purchasing them from bikeeffects.comI bought my valve 90 degree valve stems from a forum vendor (Bike Effects): linky thingy.I bought other things so I got the 10% discount he lists under the vendor secton so the price was in line with the ebay link Mike posted.
That's where I got mine. I got the short straight stems as I have the sensor caps for the TPMS.If you don't have a problem checking tire pressure with straight stems, check out THESE very short stems for a low price. I have them on my FJR and they work fine with no leaks.
