I've been Windows shopping for software to track vehicle maintance and such for my growing fleet (only one motorcycle so far). I like Car Care the best of what I've seen so far. Lots of great features and think it could also be used to cover general record keeping for anything from lawnmowers to airplanes.

Does anyone on the forum have a recommendation for software they are using? :) Just want to check before I send the $$$. But it wouldn't be the first time I discovered the software I really want just after buying something else.

When I buy a bike, I always dedicate a small notebook, log maintenance in it, and keep it with the owner's manual. Having it always on the bike and ready to use with nothing more than a pencil is, to me, a lot more valuable than having it where stored on a computer. The key thing with whatever system you use is to make it easy to use so you don't forget. Maintenance on a motorcycle is just not very complicated - use software if you like, but in my mind, it's using a steam shovel to build a sand castle.

When I get ready to sell a bike, potential buyers are just blown away when I pull out my little logbook and they can leave through and see everything that has ever been done to the bike. It is the final thing that closes the sale.

Except for ... I love steamshovels :dribble: I'm also a software junkie. Over the years I've made significant contributions to software developement by buying tons of software that I really didn't need.

Thanks for the advice guys. I checked out the spreadsheet, but I'm not much of a spreadsheet fan (it's a personal problem). I also checked into the Stumpware software, which looks good, but I don't' think it was worth the extra 50%. It's helpful to know that it is popular on other boards. *** makes a good baseline for evualation.
