I have dealt with Chaparral before and they always treated me right!!

Thanks for the heads up. Despite having a set of Pr4gt and a set of t30 evo gt sitting in the garage I had to jump on it. I'll use them in the spring.

Damn it! I just ordered a set of PR4s this afternoon so I could have a fresh set of tires for EOM in two weeks. I hate to wreck a fresh $325.00 set of PR4s on the slab to EOM and back and I don't think my PR2s with 5000 miles on them will make it down and back.
I have your solution 'crombie:

Don't slab it to EOM.

Take some back roads and state highways on the way across to use up the part of your PR4's between the center and the sidewalls.

At EOM you will probably never touch the centers and can use up those extreme edges.

Then you limp home (via the dreaded slab) on those shredded PR4 carcasses on the (still present) center hard compound stripes.

Just go easy on the exit cloverleafs.

You're welcome.

PS - Lookin' forward to meeting you at EOM (finally)

I like your way of thinking Fred, but the back roads and state highways are as straight as the slab in my part of the country.

Once I have the first 800 under my belt Wednesday I will search out the curves the last 400+ miles Thursday arriving with a smile from ear to ear. Trust me, no one appreciates a curvy road more than a North Dakota FJR rider.

In the back of my mind I had this nagging concern: two m/c tires for that price? Seemed legit. But today when I got home and found ONE tightly wrapped tire on my porch I had a momentary concern relapse. Has anybody posted they got their order yet? Could that price have been "either/or" and not "and?" Nah. Since we're both in Cali I was able to call before 5:00. One was shipped direct, the other is coming from someplace else--warehouse? Manufacturer? Anyway, somebody, and tomorrow. I'm leaving it in the stretch-wrap packaging. Makes a great drum!

Edit--yep, came the next day. Now I have a bass drum too.

Both of mine arrived yesterday afternoon. I did call in the order, though, as I was hoping for the additional pitpass 5-15% discount. I did not get the discount. My tires may or may not have shipped direct from San Bernardino where Chaparral is located. It's a short trip to Glendale.

As I understand it most online orders (Revzilla, Cyclegear, Chaparral, et al) get processed and shipped from a handful of third party distribution warehouses throughout the land. It's possible both did not come from the same place.

I did read elsewhere that people have received both German and Chinese made Metzlers in the past. Mine are Chinese, made near the end of 2014. Cest la vie.

Both of mine were out of stock and they said it would ship upon arrival so they may have gotten the 1 size in.

Someone post up the date codes !

Edit: bruin mentioned his date and mfg. location, thanks.

My front arrived promptly (2-3 days?). Manufactured the 36th week of 2015 from China. I have a tracking number for the rear that I expect on Monday.

Maybe not top shelf but after talking with an '05 owner today at Iron Pony who said he's paying $500 for Michelins front and back, I'm happy. I'm so glad the Internet taught me how to spoon my own on.

Ordered a set today -- so they're still in stock. (They've sold at least a dozen sets to us!)

Have been very happy with the Metzeler Roadtec 01s currently on the bike. We'll see how the Z06s stand up to daily commuting in the city. The upcoming BMRx, about 2,000 miles, will likely see the end of the Roadtec 01s.

I received the front in 2 days. Still waiting on the rear. I noticed on line today that my bank account was charged $156 last week for the set and then again this weekend for $83 for a rear. Customer service says they are just authorizations...not charges and that they only charge what they send. Time will tell if the account statement matches up in a couple days.

She also said rears are out of stock and expected in on the 17th.

That's good info. I will be checking my account shortly....

Rear arrived today. 39th week of 2014 from China. Credit card statement looks correct.
