:angry2: Got a passing on double yellow and speeding on BRP near Roanoke. The speeding is doubtful - I doubt I was going over 60mph and friend following agrees with me. Anyhow, this was not exactly addressed on a 2008 thread but - does anyone KNOW FOR SURE if the info will be transferred to Ont if I pay?

That's an excellent question that I'd also like to know.

That being said, do you really think that the two countries put in the time and effort to have systems that talk to each other or voluntarily give this info?

I recieved a ticket in SC and had to pay on the spot! Never heard another thing about it. Yes I live in Ontario .... the biggest Nanny State ever!

I believe a ticket on the BRP is a federal ticket. Those are very expensive. They don't count against your state license in the USA so I doubt they would notify Canada.

That's a nice stretch through there, although I've never had the opportunity to ride it on my FJR yet. Where are you in steel town iboldguy??

Hamilton West mountain near Upper Paradise and Scenic.

From the replies and the Ontario gummint MTO web site, looks like no points off Ont. license for Fed. violations on the Roanoke area of the BRP. The BRP is good because they have taken alot of the risk out of it, well maintained, you can trust the corners etc., but bad because of wild life esp. deer and turkeys, and cagers at and often below the speed limit gaulking around instead of driving their fricken cars.

One puzzlement I have - just about the whole BRP is painted double yellow lines, but in some places they also post signs that say "don't pass". I have been told that in Pennsylvania that you can pass on double yellow unless it's posted "No Passing."

True?? what about the BRP?

Come on down!! The cops are gonna love you here!! No, it is not legal to pass on double yellow in Pa. Of course, it's only illegal if someone sees you.
