OK, for all the peep that will be out there in "West By God Virginia" this Memorial Day weekend, Violione and is oldest daughter will be cruising a big old loop through the "Mountaineer State"on the second annual father daughter ride!

Basic plan is Saturday head out to Afton, VA and jump on the BRP south. Get off the BRP either at 56 or Buena Vista and head west to words Lewisburg, WV (don't think we'll be running the the Goshen Pass this time). Sunday we ride 60 west to and into the New River Gorge then up the most twisties roads in the middle of WV, WV 41 & 20 north up to Buckhannon; 119 to Phillippi, 38 east over to 72 through Dolly Sods and into Petersburg for the night. Monday starts off with Smoke Hole Road :yahoo: then a quick trip up and over to Spruce Knob. Then we're back down 33 to 28 into Thornwood so we can ride US 250 back into VA and then hit the slab :dribble: back to Virginia Beach.

So be on the look out - we'll be on the silver ghost (06 AE) and I'll have on a retna burning Hi-Viz yellow jacket and Sarah is sporting her new gear, a white and pink Cortech Ladies jacket and a blue and sliver Fulmer lid. :clown2: You will not be able to miss us, if you do YOU ARE BLIND, GET OFF THE ROAD!

Pictures to follow.

and they're off! (but we always knew that) :D

seriously, V and daughter drove off this morning for a great weekend of twisties.

Daughter was a bit mopey cuz she couldn't dress like a fashion plate  but once they get to the mountains she'll forget about it. B)

My oldest daughter is now 14, and has lost all interest in riding with me. This ride sounds like fun. I do have a up and comer waiting in the wings to ride with me though. My 7 year old is thrilled about getting the chance to ride with me. So far we've only gone around the block though......still a bit young for a real ride.

Hope things go smooth for them!

we also have a 7-year-old chomping at the bit to go riding . . . she's so tiny we can't find any gear to fit her, except for a helmet, so she gets an occasional slow ride around the block. :)

What a great plan! As one who was a single parent of "The Princess" I appreciate special time with the young ladies. What a terrific idea from what must be a great family. On the plus side, you guys are creating a memory that will last for ever.

Alrighty peeps! The father daughter ride was a hit! Its Wendesday and I am still sore. The ride was awesome and we meet up with a good friend and then the next day made a new friend. The weather was hot and moist but didn't get wet at all the whole time!

Here are some pictures of the trip:

Sarah makes a bee line to the pool at the Brier Inn in Lewisburg, WV - took her all of 2 minutes to get out of the ATGATT and into the bikini!

We had a great weekend riding. Got to see a good friend Jim and made a new friend George (I owe him two lunches!) All in all, it would have been a perfect ride if only Scoops and the Winky Head (the youngest Jennifer) could have made it on their bike with us!

Glad to have been a part of the journey! This was my first ride with another FJR owner. Enjoyed every minute of it. Glad to have made it over Rt 33........ again!! Didn't know it was your bithday Tuesday, Happy B day.

sighhhhg, I was in Florida this past weekend... 'cause I definitely would've been riding with you. Good pics, Jay. Tell Sarah hello from me, Heidi

Great that you are able to turn your riding into a family activity. I'm glad to see your daughter wearing appropriate safety gear despite the heat. Keep up the good work.

Hey Docholiday,

Sarah had on mesh with the liners (if needed) and she was very comfortable, I on the other was wearing the no-mesh gear. Sitting behind the V-Stream I got little air. The jacket flows air very nicely IF there is air to flow through. By the way I grew up in Binghamton, small world isn't it?

great report, great pics and i know y'all had a great time. only question is, who is that goofy looking guy in the yeller jacket??? :p

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

It looks like you guys had a great ride and saw some really pretty scenery. And you got to spend some time with your "munchkin" away from the schedules and pressures of home/school/friends/chores/etc./etc.

What a lucky girl. Bet her friends are jealous. Not often when dad has that much time for kids.

;)
