My Condolences! I bought one. I thought it was a cheap POS. The FJR throttle is a bit stiff. I bought another brand that was quality. I really like it. TJ

You're nuts. VistaCruise is is the best bang for the buck farkle. The ony one I couldn't live without.

You're right, it is cheap. I tried those on dual sports I've had and they last one crash so I thought they were a POS and I bought a Throttlemeister for my FJR. If I had it to do again I'd buy the Vista Cruise instead of that cumbersome overpriced POS Throttlemeister. At least for an FJR type bike. Best throttle lock for anything you crash on a regular basis is a mini bungie cord....seriously.

I haven't had the time to modify things yet, working on that hopefully this weekend. Between work and the wife, no time for me.

Hey! I have crashed my FJR twice now :( , and the VistaCruise is one of the only things to come away unscathed! :clapping:

Well it's hard to argue with that kind of success but If you keep it up you might be a candidate for a bungie cord though

Hate to hear this about the Throttlemeister....... just ordered my "2 days" ago. Getting the heavy version. Wanted bar end weights too.

Do they really not work very well? Hard to adjust?

Lots of people love the TM, but I can't figure out why. For me, it's a cumbersome PITA to use, and you get to pay dearly for the privilege. Once you spend some time (not much) with a VistaCruise, engagement/disengagement is instantaneous. I still haven't figured out how to easily engage the TM on my second FJR. Just pisses me off! A VistaCruise will be getting installed eventually, even though the FJR also has the Audiovox cruise control. If there was NO other option, I might buy a TM. But with cheaper, easier to use alternatives out there..............?????? I don't get it.

If I keep it up, I might be a candidate for a wheelchair. Or even worse, *gasp* a trike!

But will the TM actually WORK even if it's cumbersome?

What Skooter said!

With my Vista Cruise and a Throttle Rocker, and 2 trips to EOM, I've about decided that I DON'T need an Audiovox cruise control.

Which Vista Cruise do you purchase for the '07 FJR? I am assuming the one specified for Yamaha (as opposed to the universal).

Also, other than modifying the throttle clamp itself, which I have read that there is a tab that has to be cut off, it is necessary to make any modifications on the

bike itself. I saw earlier posts for earlier models about having to cut away part of the grip to make it fit, and did not know if Vista Cruise had since changed this

or if that is still necessary.

The vista cruise will be my 3rd mod on the '07.

1) Cal Sci tall (+3.5) windscreen - Jury still out on this one, I can not find a totally calm pocket from full down to full up position.

2) Skyway Delrin Slider kit - Excellent product, Excellent quality. Certainly hope to never find out how how good a product this is.

3) & 4) Plan on the Vista cruise and the throttle rocker.

Any suggestions appreciated.

sumotony - there are several different VistaCruise models you can choose. If you are going to ground off the tab to attach it to the throttle housing as most do, then it doesn't really matter which one you get - except the Universal model is a completely different beast altogether.

As for trimming the grips, it depends what kind of grips you have and how big the "hilt?" is. I had to trim my Tacki Gran Touring grips a bit as you can see in the photos in the below link.

Click on the link to see the model of Vista Cruise I installed and how I installed it using the "no drill" method. Just another option to consider.

Installed one of the MadCo locks but haven't got to try it out yet as the bikes seats are in the end stage of being done. It looks like it will work well though. Excellent quality and doesn't need altering and looks like it belongs on the bike. PM. <>< MadCo

Cripes! That thing is expensive!

To lock the TM just reach over with the left hand and give it a turn. Still can't operate it easily with the right. I can turn it off with the right though. If I did it all again I would purchase heavy bar ends and get a Vista Cruise or something similar. That way I could use the V-Strom hand guard with the end holder.

Hey Skooter, thanks for the tip on the no drill method. As someone who is completely over the top anal about permanent mods to a brand new machine this was just the ticket for me. I spent several hours wandering the net looking for some "wrist relief" and yours made the most sense. I ordered my vista tonight. When it comes to farkles lets all "KISS". Keep It Simple Stupid!

The VC also works well when setting the injectors and you want to do it at 4000rpm...makes it an easy one-person job. Also, if you install the G2 the VC works much better and adjustment is easier than with the stock throttle tube. Lastly, drumel the VC for grip clearance...don't cut your grips.

You should be glad you can GET IT UP!
