But can you wait 'till November?

Went for a xcountry ride to the east coast on Monday, and ran across some fellow riders on a couple of "MT-01's". They said that they were Euro-spec naked Stars....looked great and pulled like frieght trains...a couple of pics...

My god!!! What a monster. Just shy of 200hp? Makes me wonder what that would be like in an FJR? :clapping: :dribble:
Vmax motor in the FJR? That would be fun!! :clapping: But would never happen. But if it did I'd upgrade. B)

IMO they could have dropped the jetpacks sticking out the back. Kinda reminds of the cannon sticking out of the New Connie's. "UGLY"

Also what's up with 70's looking Honda fender. As far as I am concerned something went south. Remember the Edsal. Maybe that's why they only

making 2500 units. Drop that motor in an H.D. and add some more chrome and maybe you got something. NOW WERE TALKING.

Sounds like it has no lack of power for sure. Just don't care for it at all. Looks like something Harley WISHES they could make. At least the original was WAY different and didn't look like a ******* spawn of a Harley. No thanks......

Can't see any resemblance to any Harley Davidson product. Beauty surely is in the eye of the beholder.

I think they are trying to make the new resemble the old, and I think they did a great job.

If this one turns better,(and it should with the new chasiss) this ride will be awesome.

My .02 worth ; A.C.

With a good sounding exhaust that V4 is one of the baddest sounding motors on the planet!! There are quite a few around the Denver area, following was always pretty good.

Ken.

According to at least one magazine report the new bike weighs in around 680 pounds, and it is so wide that you feel like you're sitting on an engine. Its max speed is set at 135 mph unless you're running from standing start WOT where it will limit at something a bit higher so that you can get an honest unimpeded quarter mile time.

Anyone want a Boss Hoss? This thing ain't gonna be no FJR, and its priced like a BMW.

Since Yamaha is marketing the VMax thru their cruiser barnd Star, why is this thread in the Sportbike section? Sure ain't a sportbike by any criteria I know of.

I sat on one at Laconia Bike Week. I thought it was pretty sweet lookin and the ergos felt very nice just setting on it. It seemed alot bigger, beefier than the old V-Max that I remember. I think if the price was around the 15K mark, they would sell a ton of them. At 17-18K, a different story. Probably why they're only bringing 2500 here. We'll see.

When you consider that the Suzuki nekkid bike based on the Hayabusa is routinely being discounted to $12K, I think they're going to have a long row to hoe with this launch. Its going to be for diehard V-Max fans. I do think this bike is prettier than the Suzuki competitor. If the old Harley Davidson adage "There's no substitute for cubic inches" is believed, there will be a market for this sort of naked bike.
