Hello tech geniuses,

I am looking for a work-around if any. The folks at IMC Products are telling me, " Unfortunately we do not have any product that will allow voice dialing. Thank you, Diana, Sierra Electronics, 1-800-338-6938." Well of course I don't want to stop there.

The set-up that I currently have is an IMC-MIT-100U unit

with a Garmin 2820 and a Blackberry Pearl. As you all know the intercom allows me to listen to my phone calls in stereo through my helmet with great clarity at any speed – very cool, great products. However, I do not like dialing on my GPS for outgoing calls for obvious safety reasons. Receiving calls is easy when I set the phone to auto answer so I don’t have to do anything but say hello when the phone picks up. My phone is equipped with voice dialing but I haven’t figured out how to use this feature with my current set-up without , obviously, physically pushing the button on the side of the phone to initiate this feature (this wouldn't work anyway). I keep the phone under my seat to keep the temptation away.

Finally, my question is how or can I use the voice dialing feature of my phone with my set-up? Is there a way to incorporate the PTT button into initiating the voice dialing feature of the phone? After making all the connections prior to taking off on the bike, I tried just pushing the voice dial button on the phone itself with no connectivity through my helmet's mic.

I would appreciate any help in this area. Thank you.

I have sought an answer for the same question. Although I'm only using a Garmin C330, I'm hoping the Garmin ZUMO550 will allow the PPT to initiate the bluetooth inabled cell phone so that I can dial out. Virizon cell phones do not offer anything completely hands free. However, I understand that a saved number in the Zumo can be dialed out via Bluetooth cell phone, so why not voice activated numbering? I, like you, would just like to press a button on the GPS to activate voice dialing.

Good luck on your quest.
