Okay, Okay. We will start with the turd Sat as the most likely day, weather providing. (I already have a commitment then but maybe will work it out as an early one) :angry2:

Ken,

The third Saturday is great for me, in fact it is my only free Saturday for me in September.

I'm putting it in my calendar for the 3rd Saturday, for the Seattle area guys we can put together a route down and back staying off off the slab.if anyone has any ideas let me know.

I will be ready for the ride. I passed NFD 99 road on my way back from WFO on Sunday and noticed it was open. I will comment that NFD 25 from the north is a very rough ride, but what the heck it has a lot of twisties. Here are a few photos I took Sunday morning.

Mt. St. Helens eastside.

I was on NF 25 end of July. Rough? You ain't driven some of the highways up here in Canuckistan mate... we'd feel like we were in heaven if our roads were that well maintained ;)

Just sayin'...

Come on down to Oregon, we have lots of great riding on smooth curvies.

Now, what's really funny to me is snowmonkey's avatar.

That show was filmed in my hometown. I think I still have the pics somewhere of when a friend and I bumped into Mr. Lahey as well...LOL

Too funny that THAT show, of all Canadian shows, is known here in the US...LOL

...hmmm, haven't been down there yet this year.

Misty (my '03 FJR) has been down there every year since July '02 (you read that right). It would be a good excuse to make it 8 yrs. in a row! I've never done it with the forum 'group ride' scenario, just solo or with various friends. Might join in if day is open and weather somewhat accomodating. :)

Bubbles is my hero. Trailer Park Boys is the funniest show to drop out of Canada since the McKenize brother's Great White North.

It appears we have somewhat of a consensus -- third weekend September.

edit....

I will be in the Vancouver, WA for a board meeting and likely not able to catch up with anyone. I might ride through on may way home; timing being key. Don't have any fancy auxilary lights so riding Blewett after dusk can be a bit interesting with hunting going on and the vermin moving a lot.

(....)////(.....)///(....)(weather)(...)///(....)//// <just clouds and rain :(

B) If weather is agreeable. That would be September 19th.

Just a bump. Keep looking and remembering this date.

I was hoping to make this ride after meeting blufjr at WFO, but barring a miracle, it won't be happening. My tires are shot and I'm at 30K miles and need the valves checked -- no money for either after some medical expenses and job change for my wife came up. Hope all have fun, and I think the Fall ride idea is a good one.

Sorry to hear of the inconveniences, hope all works out. Keep that bike in shape, it may have to last you as long as it has lasted me (and others). See you at another event.

So if the 19th turns out to be a lousy day, will the 26th become the raindate?
That would make sense. I will be in Page, AZ on that date, so I would skip the 26th and look to October 3 as the next date. Lets not worry about it until then, the 19th should have good weather, as the weather sucks right now. I will make the call on the 10th. :)

Looking forward to meeting up with you again.

Thanks bro'. I was reminded Friday night as I met a friend of a buddy who lives in Olympia. As he talked about Wndy Ridge and the ride and how I have to get up there, I kept thinking ****, ****, ****. For those on the fence, it should be on your bucket list.

I'll make it one of these days. Good job you are doing here.

OK, Count me in. I'd love to meet you guys. Third Sat of Sept is fine with me. I've already been up there twice since the road has been open... oh, and once to the snow gate before it was open.

I live in PDX, so I take the Forestry RD 99 route from Carson. Hard to get tired of the twisty roads and the beautiful forest and mountain views.

I'll see you guys up there.

Huck
