There are many reasons I hate Old Michael. Many of you share these same reasons so I won't elucidate at this time.

However, if I may, I will explain just one of his more annoying tendencies.

Wanting to be polite, I asked OM what, if anything, I could bring with me on this ride. He said, and I quote, "cowboy boots, a sombrero and oatmeal raisin cookies. Oh, and pack a lunch".

Wanting only to please, so as to keep the ride invitations coming, I obliged.

The damn sombrero blew off my head somewhere around West Sacramento.

The cowboy boots were met with soft ridicule.

The cookies though often offered went uneaten. Except by me, of course. I was so busy shopping for sombreros that I forgot to pack a lunch.

All in all a great ride with great friends. A few butt clenching moments when invisible sand would catch you off guard, but that works better than any energy drink you can buy.

Thanks OM for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, and thanks to you Patrick for a well kept pace.

Oh, and one more thing. OM will try to tell ya'll that I passed some lady by riding on the sidewalk. It's only half true.
