Another thing to keep in mind is that no one will take care of your bike as well as you do. Also the FJR is not a bike for some one to learn on.

It all comes down to personal priorities and financial common sense.

You live Sunny SoCal, it hardly ever rains, perhaps the FJR could be your 'only' ride?

If you don't need the cage, sell it, keep the FJR.

If the cage is needed to transport kids, or for biz, then, sell the FJR.

Or not. How much does it cost to keep the FJR? What is the value you place on having a great bike to ride?

Can other areas be cut?

I went through a similar yet different scenario on my 2nd divorce and had to make some hard decisions. The result? I found I really liked some of the older bikes in my stable that still ran, discovered some great new friends who rode the 'lesser' bike, was able to get the financial house somewhat back in order, and here I am now riding in what I call the "FJR Years".

I hope this makes some sense and helps.

Remember Malve; you're a good man, I met and talked with you for sometime in CO. This period of trying time will pass. You will recover, you will make happen what needs to happen. Time, mi amigo.... time.

Hang in there bro...this too shall pass! Remember through it all to take the high road. You will make the right decision, it is who you are. If you need anything within reason, let me know. I'll be praying for you.

OK, with all this input, it's time to winnow through everything and pick out the good stuff. For example:

I suggest renting out the X for $100 a night and keeping the bike.
It might be high, but still a thought (useless without pictures, however). Still, I remember the guy who sent his wife out to help with the finances working her old job. She came back in the morning looking pretty beat with $125.25. He asked her, "Who gave you the quarter?" Her answer was "All of them."

One other thing to think about. If the bike is considered community property, she's going to want and get half the proceeds. Might want to run any buying/selling/renting ideas past the lawyer first.
If she says it's half hers, take her for a ride on the freeway. Do a wheelie. There you go.

I'm here to help. Feel free to contact me for more useful suggestions. (And remember, your sense of humor will help you through this mess.) ;) Good luck.

Think anybody might want to rent the Armada?
