So many roads so little time...

Went for a ride-about from Yarmouth to Lunenburg to Halifax then up to Prince Edward Island, then down through New Brunswick back in 2004.

We went East around from Yarmouth to Lunenberg then up to Halifax. Roads vary from 45MPH semi-twisties to 2-3-4 lane somewhat limited access high speed roads. Most people drive a reasonable speed, and the roads usually have a passing lane every 3-4 miles so you can get around the people that drive slow.

Scenery was nice, assuming you like boats & water & coastline roads. The people up there are very friendly & good to chat with. One fellow had us in for a lobster lunch because he saw our plates & wanted to have us over to feed & chat. Lots of history & the roads could use a little more finesse in the pothole repair end of things but generally pretty good.

Only had 10 days, wish I had 30 !

If you want a good tour of the best roads in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and possibly PEI then check out www.aldersland.com You will not regret it. This will be year #3. B)

Thanks for the link Nova. We are planning a trip to Nova Scotia probably the end of June, beginning of July and this should come in handy. We will be riding up from eastern Long Island in NY and will probably take the CAT ferry from Bar Harbor. Being a maritime area, is it quite rainy or foggy that time of year?

Evening Axe.

June can still bring the occasional cold/rain episode. Nothing outrageous, but definitely not the hot sunny days that we get here in July to early Fall.

It can be a bit of a cr*p shoot in June so if you 'are' coming up then, you'll definitely want to bring rain gear.

Let me know if you are coming up and I'll pass on some awesome roads for you to see, plus the little out of the way eateries that my bikers buddies recommend.

There is this little gas stop that makes their own home made ice cream sandwiches that are to die for... Mandatory stop for any ride in the summer.

Cheers

I rode the Cabot trail in June 05. It was a little cold and rainy, but nice enough when the sun came out. My buddies name is Aucoin, and they have a bunch of cajuns up there. Had a nice stop at Glenora Scotch Distillery, couldn't sample too much because we were riding. Nice scenery!
