I probably stand a better chance of winning Powerball, but I thought I throw this out there...

I'm looking for a single (out of production, no longer manufactured) 4GHID lamp. Just need the housing/lens/bulb assembly. My existing one disintegrated in a recent crash. Also if anyone's looking to unload a set of two of these, lemme know what you got.

Are those the Future Vision ones? Maybe a picture of the lights before the destruction.
Yup. The old/original one's they sold.

I'm afraid our McRib boy has about a snowball's chance in hell of getting a single replacement.

Greg - have you considered replacing with one of the current ones?

I might end up going with those, just not all that pleased with futurevision's response (lack of support) when I drowned one of the "waterproof" ballasts on the 4GHIDS.

I've also got a line on a set of new (old stock) PHIDS. After seeing yours I know those will do just as well.

Futurevision sells a PHID 4 knock off from Taiwan, give it a look. The Oval shaped phid replacement for the G 4 looks good also.

My experence with the G3 vs the G4 is that the G4 yields a much cleaner beam pattern and shoots down the road more. Depending what is on the line like the IBR, I would go for the best money can buy. It could save your a**.

Good Luck

I don't think I am familiar with that light. Do you have a link Peter?
Hey Greg, The oval replacement PHID do not appear on the site, The link below is for the 90 mm Taiwan copy of the PHID 4's. They are not inexpensive either. I would call Steve the owner if interested in the Oval Jobs I mentioned .

Hope all is well with YA..

This may be a dumb question, so bear with me, but why would someone go with these instead of a Soltek Fuego? Yeah, the Fuegos are bulkier and arguably uglier, but mounting the remote ballast/ignitor for the Future Vision would be a huge hassle compared to the 'plug and play' simplicity of the Fuegos. Oh, and a pair of the Fuegos is $130 less than the Future Vision lights. Baja Designs isn't exactly a start-up; seems likely that they'll be around for a while.

Fuegos are available in a couple of beam patterns, also.

Am I missing something?

There are reports on this forum of front subframe failure due to the weight of the Fuegos. FV uses the slim style ballasts so mounting them is a non-issue on an FJR.

What he said. Solteks are AWESOME lights, but they aer HEAVY. If you don't modify your front subframe, most likely it will eventually fail with those heavy *******s mounted to it.

Ah. That's what I was missing! Thanks!
