Ladies, Gents, and Niehart,

I am interested in dragging a trailer around on some trips and wanted to see if we had any forum denizens looking to get rid of one before I searched the wider market. Please send me a PM if you have one gathering dust and needs a new home. If you have any words of wisdom on running or acquiring one, feel free to send me a note or post up.

Thx,

David

Just picked up a used enclosed myself, I'd recommend Craigslist if you come up empty here, literally tons of 'em for sale right now. 5'x8's, 6x10's & 6'x12's seem to be averaging around $1600 asking price. Although I guess that could vary by location. I looked at quite a few new and used and got a good idea of the differences and what I wanted vs what I needed, for example the torsion axles are supposed to be better suspension/handling wise than the leaf spring suspension but they are also a lot more expensive if they have a problem. Definitely get a good luck underneath the trailer at the frame and floor and look for axle straightness. I'd avoid trailers that were used to haul lawn equipment as those guys rarely tie anything down which puts a beating on the floors.

Talked to several guys about the supposed gas mileage benefit of a v-nose and the consensus was that it's negligible although the increased room is nice. Not sure if you're considering an enclosed though. Tires are almost always going to be suspect due to dry rot and usually sitting in one spot for long periods of time, probably not a bad idea to factor that into the budget along with a wheel bearing repack, and install bearing buddys if they aren't already equipped.

Anyway hope this helps and good luck with your search.

He's not looking to put the bike in a trailer. He want's to put the trailer behind the bike. I'm thinking so momma can buy more. :)

I briefly thought about selling mine but I'm not broke enough yet. It's just so nice to have on trips. If I decide to sell I will let you know

I have a 21' TrailLite I'm trying to sell. It's really nice. I'm thinking if you put an electric brake controller on the FJR, it would stop just fine. Then again...maybe not.

Come on, let it go. You have toyed with the idea in the past...and you posted up here just so that I would try and talk you into it. The trailer needs a new home, it's lonely. Put a price on it...
