WANTED: good deal on an AE

Hi all,

I'm looking for a late model FJR1300AE, preferably a 2008 or 2009, in good condition.

I'm in Phoenix. I can only find dealer stock and the dealers are unwilling to deal. :angry:

Thanks! I actually test rode that machine a while back. It has signs of hard use and the dash is full of ugly holes and cracks from farkle mounts and it has some issues I don't want to deal with on a newer bike.

That's too bad Steve, bike looks good in the pics. Hard to believe with such few miles that it's not pristine...sounds like one to stay away from. Good Luck with your search!

Have you checked eBay? That's where I got my 08 AE. Paid less for a brand new bike than a lot of people are asking for their used ones.

I have. I found a few that are over 1000 miles away, not that that's a problem riding it home but it's hard to buy a machine sight-unseen like that. Now if there were one locally....

Mine came from a dealer in MN. Cost me $600 to have it shipped here. The ride would have been fun,but I didn't have the time for an 1,800 mile journey.

I bought mine off ebay in Jacksonville, FL (not an AE though) in May of 2008 over 5000miles away from home and the only things I had seen were a couple of pictures, the mileage and the buyer telling me that the bike was in pristine condition...communicated back and forth by email and phone, booked a flight from Europe and had that puppy shipped to Germany (Bremerhaven) where I picked the bike up 5 weeks later and rode home for 600 miles to Switzerland :yahoo:

never looked back and very happy with the decision I made

Last weekend I saw a brand new '08 at a dealer in Coopersburg, PA. $9,999.

They had an '09 A with under 2500 miles for $11 or $12K too.

My brother has had them do service on his Honda Blackbird and has been happy with their service.

While you're looking, it probably wouldn't hurt to stop in at the dealer every once in a while and just ask, "You ready to make me a deal on that AE yet?" As time goes by and it sits there, they'll probably be more willing to bend.
Or you could be a little more scrupulous and call up a dealer and tell them about 'the deal you got offerred by another dealership', and tell that since they're closer and you'd prefer to deal locally, if they can better it by a bit, you'll work with them.....

I mean if they're not willing to work with you NOW doesn't mean you can't subtly (and legally) bend their arm into working with you in the near future.....

That's a good break in ride. No snow here yet. :yahoo: Hopefully, we'll make it past this weekend without any.

I bought mine in Jan '08 from a guy in Albuquerque and rode it home in early March. Some pretty weird weather on that trip. Always adds to the adventure that way.

There's also an '06 AE right here in the forum classifieds in TX. Much closer to you I dare say. Low miles and lightly farkled. All I know about it is what it says in the ad located HERE.

Bought mine from these guys back in August for 10500. Brand new with warranty. They still have quite a few and might be willing to go below their advertised price...found out they bought all of them from a dealer that went out of business and got them for 7200 a piece. worth checking out any way. according to their newest advertisement you can pay full price and get a 650 for free or take 5000 off of sticker price. But like I said, they have a WHOLE BUNCH of these and I bet they would be willing to deal just to move them. BTW, they are in Jacksonville,FL. Not sure if you are willing to do a long distance buy, but here you go.
