Luvtoride I was donating some good Canadian beer out back Friday and Saturday night while doing some bench racing. Next year I'll double my load so we have a little more to go round.

Rob
Silly, the beer isn't for me. It's for that crazee Bungie! I offered him a Bud Light. He looked at me strange & said "uh, I'm from Canada".

That "in da' states" swill does just fine for me!

Your offer is much obliged, though & I'll be looking for you in the parking lot next year.

Isn't Bud Light what comes out of Brita water filters up there in Canada?

I would like to add one big thanks to the ZOOOMs for chaperoning me for a full week!

They pushed me to ride hard, but knew when to back off while making me think I was really

keeping up - making sure I didn't kill myself (despite a couple efforts on my part).

Hats off to the organizers and planners. This was a great event. The ride up from Georgia was great fun on some super roads livened up by a spectacular lunch with most unusual service provisions. But, who's complaining? The food was great when it arrived. I've had lots of HSTA rally experiences and you guys served up the equal or better; not to mention that my ride was clearly superior. Buzzz, MotorcycleEd and me spun off a really great set of RoadSmarts and enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to see those WVA hills again soon.

Hey! It's bad enough that I missed out on the riding, the socializing, the swag, and all the other good fun, but now someone has to post a picture of the dinner! Just wait 'til next year........

We missed you.

Oh yeah, you missed on helluva concert too!

I want to thank Mr Ashe for tuning my suspension...in the parking lot....as the photographer was getting ready to take the picture. He asked a few simple questions, I answered, and he proceded to pull out the wrenches and make the adjustments. Not a bit of hesitation. Thanks you again kind sir!
I'm glad that everyone had a good time in Lewisburg. Before long, it will be time to start discussions on EOM 09. Maybe Lewisburg for 3rd times the charm?
I too want to thank Jeff Ashe for checking my suspention set up and giving me a second opinion on how I had it set up. Thanks also to Heidi for the great ride and route we rode. Thanks to the staff that made it all happen again this year. I would like to add that it is not too soon to start talking about next year. I vote for another year of Lewisburg. I just love the roads around Lewisburg and the hotel and restaurants are super. :clapping: :clapping: :yahoo:

Great finally meeting you Jaxon,
Heidi

PS... I was not one of the peg scrapers... I got my left peg once over the weekend. It was not intentional. I don't like scraping my pegs.

Hey it was great to meet you... Please keep in touch, Email me at the shop so I can get your number and such so I can take part next year.. I also want to build that "award" for people to pass on for future events... This should be good !

Go out and grind some pegs, you will love it ! ;-)

I'd like to thank everyone for leaving smiles on the faces of the hotel staff and the non-riding hotel customers. If we do it in Lewisburg again, I'm sure we'd be welcome back at the Brier.

Thanks to all the "characters" who showed up. Many of you are special, special people (not in a "short bus" kind of way....no, I take that back). You all are special people. EOM peeps have it going on. You have heart.

See you next year, if not before.

If we do it in Lewisburg again
Nobody has picked up responsibility for EOM '09, yet. I think that I can safely say that it probably won't be in Lewisburg next year.

It has already been at this venue 2 years running.

Personally, I'd like to go south next year. And by south, I don't mean Florida... where you can say, "bet that I can beat you up the next onramp!"

I dunno, there is an awful lot of interest in Lewisburg III. So many roads, so little time.

Another thing to consider, is that NAFO is headed east in 2010, which will probably require a relocation. Which, lends itself to a Lewisburg III, with two years to scout the NAFO venue.

It'll be hard to beat WV for roads, but I think we can put on a good show in NC. Perhaps use Asheville as home base. That's a good ride down for the OH/NY/PA crowd, we'd probably lose a number of those folks.

Nah. It was 724 for me to slab to Lewisburg (I didn't. I rode all back roads and went almost 800), and it would be 937 to get to Asheville. What's an extra 200 miles? Just 1 tank of gas.

But it would be tough to beat the value of the Brier Inn.

Thanks also to Heidi for the great ride and route we rode.
Ya' know Rick, I think that we were the only crew that rode the route that I planned... & if it weren't for Mike, we probably would've been back at least an hour later. The man w/ few words sure knows how to expedite things.

Of note... it is a good thing that we rode through Rte 250 on Friday. Monday, on the way home they were chip sealing a long section of it & some of the best parts were packed w/ gravel.

This was my first EOM, and what a memorable experience I had.

What a great location to have a motorcycle meet like the EOM.

I enjoyed meeting a lot of the people here on the forum in person. Definitely a special kind of group that doesn't hold back when people need help.

I would like to thank everybody that helped organize this years EOM for their dedication in making this a great event and also wanted to thank the sponsors that donated the door prices. Also thanks to the ride leaders that let me ride in their groups on Sat and Sun. An event I won't forget anytime soon and I am looking forward to attending EOM 2009. Hope to see some of you guys sooner than that.

Ingo

On a side note I should have a list up by Saturday of all peoples who donated the door prizes for EOm 08 so everyone can send them a shot of thanks if they desire. Work has been crazy this wek and I won't get the time until Saturday.

Hopefully, everyone who won prizes will desire. It seems to me that showing of gratitude (& of course giving your business later in the year) is directly related to donations in years to come. Please, the folks who won prizes PLEASE send a letter of gratitude to the vendor.

I wanted to send a special thanks to the gentlemen who donated the 7 windshield screws for me... :good:

I would like to thank everyone posting photos and telling the good stories!

I regret not being at the last two EOM's very much. But somehow, seeing the photos of all my riding friends, and remembering my own experiences of years past still always brings a smile to my face. EOM in '05 was my first meet, and my first time meeting any other FJR riders. I met people who would become friends for life, and frequent riding companions. The eastern meet is something special indeed, and it's always the people that make it so.

It'll be hard to beat WV for roads, but I think we can put on a good show in NC. Perhaps use Asheville as home base.
I've already been giving a lot of thought to this exact option.

My best friend on the planet is in Asheville, so, natch, I'd be for such a meet. He makes wine (with *NO* strawberries).

I agree with the others who have said that laying the groundwork for NAFO 2010 might be something to think about.
