But shipping from Indonesia???? Whaddya think it might cost to get ten bikes here in less than a week? Might cut into the resale margin.

I like how you can add the bikes to your basket.....shoot, at those prices you could buy them buy the basket. $1800 for a new 07 YZ ain't bad either....PM. <>< :dntknw:

I shot them an email for grins. They wanted a business name and address. I asked about import fees, shipping fees, etc. and if they would sell one to an individual. I'll let you know if they answer.

For grins I emailed the site a question about the VSTAR they had for sale. I asked if they would sell just one and what shipping and tarrif costs etc. would be. Got this email today:

"Thanks for your confirmation to us.

Shipping cost and custom, tax to port of United States was USD485.00 /unit bike

No problems, for us sold one bike to an individual. We could do that.

This is we give some more information to your first order, please checked:

-Product Name: 2007 Yamaha V Star (V Star)

-Price: USD1,485

-Delivery: Via DHL by Cargo

-Mode of Transport: Air

-Delivery Time: 1 week

-Payment Term: T/T

If you interested and want to make order, please let us know.

We were waiting well from you.

Thanks."

If it's not the Nigerians (I have lived and worked in Lagos) then look who's taken on the role of scammer!

I thought DHL had ceased its USA operations a couple of months ago?

Either way, great deal on bogus stuff.....Folks this is a job for 419eater dot com (site baits scammers with the money going to charity)..

Ride safe,

taff.

Taff, thanks for keeping me up late. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I just spent an hour or two on scamorama.com and a couple of other 419 sites. Hilarious baiting going on. It'd make for some good non-riding weather sport.

And if 9 more buyers go ahead with this FZ-R thing, count me still dubious.

Careful guyz

I bought my FJR from these guys (ECVV)

and while the price was right, they were a week late on delivery -not entirely their fault as they deliver by ocean liner and there is no ocean here in Nevada (minor oversight on their part) ......but kudos to them for bringing it up the American river as far as they could ...where I picked it up at Folsom Dam. No way they could get that boat over the dam.

Is this the FJR that makes the funny noises? It is all becoming crystal clear now... It was an imported bike! Rich

when you get them in let me know ..................................... It cost more to make the bike

The guy that fronts 419 eater dot com hails from Manchester in the UK!

The best baits are called "safaris" in that the scammer is made to travel all over the area visiting Western Union outlets for their money or lack thereof :yahoo: :yahoo:

I can remember some of the very best in "reverse baits" and you are correct in that a mere couple of hours is not enough to read one bait. After the "ladd" is "made, so to speak, a photograph is then deemed to be a "trophy".

It has me bent double in laughter so I cannot read the site all evening.

Ride safe,

taff.
